A strong Jordanian showing: Applied Science University stands alone in this achievement, ranking 13th worldwide in the Oxford Moot Court Competition

​An Unprecedented Achievement for Jordan...

The Faculty of Law team at Applied Science Private University has achieved a remarkable international milestone by advancing to the Round of 16 in the global rounds of the Price Media Law Moot Court Competition 2026, organized by the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. The team ranked 13th worldwide, marking a historic first for Jordan as the first Jordanian team to reach this advanced stage in one of the world’s most prestigious law school competitions. The team had qualified for the global rounds after winning the regional competition held in Cairo.

This achievement follows a highly competitive journey, during which the team delivered outstanding performances and secured a series of victories against teams from leading international universities, including Ain Shams University in Egypt, the University of Fort Hare in South Africa, and the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, which they defeated on points to clinch qualification. This accomplishment earned the team a place among the top 16 teams worldwide, alongside teams from the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Egypt, India, the Philippines, Singapore, Romania, Serbia, and Austria.

Representing Jordan in this prestigious competition was a distinguished team of students: Abdullah Sorour, Asal Al-Jarjawi, Layan Foudeh, and Sulaf Al-Assad, who demonstrated a high level of academic excellence and delivered a professional performance that reflects great credit on both the University and Jordan.

This achievement underscores the advanced standing of Applied Science Private University in the field of legal education and highlights its role in preparing graduates who are capable of competing confidently and competently on the international stage.This visit forms part of a series of joint activities that the Faculty is keen to implement in cooperation with the ICRC, with the objective of linking the theoretical aspects of international humanitarian law with its practical applications, and of strengthening students’ awareness of the importance of international legal rules in ensuring the protection of individuals during armed conflicts.​

In collaboration with the Companies Control Department: Applied Science University offers its students a specialized, hands-on legal experience.

​In line with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Applied Science University and the Companies Control Department, the Faculty of Law organized a field visit on Thursday, April 16, 2026, to the Companies Control Department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

During the visit, students enrolled in the Commercial Companies and Insolvency Law course were introduced to the process of company registration through the Department’s online platform, in keeping with ongoing digital transformation efforts. They also reviewed the key amendments to the Jordanian Companies Law and became familiar with the Department’s services guide and its approved forms.

Dr. Wael Al-Armouti, the Companies Controller General, emphasized the Department’s commitment to providing students with specialized knowledge and practical expertise, contributing to bridging the gap between theory and practice and enhancing their understanding of the legal work environment.​

Training Workshop for Graduates of the Faculty of Law

​On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the Graduate Follow-Up Committee at the Faculty of Law, in cooperation with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global, organized a distinguished training workshop entitled “Career Readiness for Graduates.” This initiative was held as part of the Committee’s ongoing efforts to enhance students’ preparedness for entering the labor market.

The workshop was delivered by Mr. Saleh Basyouni, Digital Training Manager at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global, who presented a range of essential skills required for graduates to succeed in their professional careers. He also offered practical guidance on effective résumé writing and strategies for successful job interviews.

This workshop forms part of a broader series of activities organized by the Graduate Follow-Up Committee at the Faculty of Law, aiming to support students and graduates and to empower them with the skills necessary for professional development and successful integration into the job market.

Field Visit to the Headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Amman

​As part of ongoing academic cooperation and the enhancement of scientific partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the Faculty of Law at the Applied Science University organized a field visit on Thursday, 15 April 2026, to the headquarters of the ICRC mission in the capital, Amman. The visit aimed to deepen students’ understanding of the pivotal role played by the ICRC in promoting and developing the rules of international humanitarian law.

This visit forms part of a series of joint activities that the Faculty is keen to implement in cooperation with the ICRC, with the objective of linking the theoretical aspects of international humanitarian law with its practical applications, and of strengthening students’ awareness of the importance of international legal rules in ensuring the protection of individuals during armed conflicts.

Faculty of Law Hosts the Ninth Internal Moot Court Competition

As part of its continuous efforts to enhance students' practical skills in Commercial Law, the Faculty of Law at the Applied Science Private University organized the Ninth Internal Moot Court Competition in Arabic on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Held during the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, the competition was titled: "A Commercial Arbitration Case between Elite Advanced Technologies and Horizon Modern Software." 

The case facts center on an arbitration dispute between "Elite" and "Horizon" regarding the ownership of a digital identity designed by the former for the latter under a commercial contract. Elite claims the contract grants it full intellectual property rights, providing Horizon with a license for private use only. However, Horizon registered the design as a trademark and utilized it in external projects. While Elite demands the cancellation of the registration, affirmation of its ownership, and compensation for damages, Horizon contends that payment of the financial consideration transferred full ownership to them, requesting the dismissal of the arbitration claim. 

The competition was organized under the patronage of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Haitham Abu Khadija, and the University President, Prof. Dr. Samiha Jarrah. Supported by the Dean and faculty members, the event stems from the Faculty's vision to prepare law students possessing the necessary skills to plead before courts and arbitral tribunals. Students competed in two stages. The preliminary stage included forty-three participants, from which ten teams qualified for the final stage, comprising five rounds. During these rounds, each team presented ten-minute oral pleadings before a specialized panel. One team assumed the role of the Claimant, while the opposing team represented the Respondent. 

The arbitration panel consisted of practicing lawyers: Mr. Bashar Diat, Dr. Atheeb Al-Barqawi, and Mr. Amr Nazzal. The final results were announced as follows:

 · Best Claimant Team: Lana Al-Khatib and Maria Al-Dahoon.

 · Best Individual Oralist (Claimant): Sadeel Ishtiwi.

· Best Respondent Team: Lama Abu Athieh and Hamza Al-Mawajdeh.

​​· Best Individual Oralist (Respondent): Maya Al-Damiri. 

At the conclusion of the competition, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the University President honored the winners and distributed certificates of appreciation, emphasizing the importance of such practical training in preparing a legal generation capable of representing national and humanitarian causes in international forums.​

The Best Translated Book Award for Professor Dr. Hamza Abu Issa from the Jordanian Arabic Language Academy for the year 2025

​​​Professor Dr. Hamza Muhammad Abu Issa, Professor of Criminal Law, and Professor Dr. Saad Abdullah Meqdad, Professor of Linguistics at the Faculty of Arts, received the Best Translated Book Award from the Jordanian Arabic Language Academy for 2025 on Thursday, December 18, 2025. This award recognized their distinguished scholarly translation of the book "Linguistic Justice: International Law and Language Policy" by Jacqueline Mowbray, from English into Arabic. The translation is a rigorous scholarly work that combines law and language, enriching the Arabic library with contemporary thought. The award ceremony took place on World Arabic Language Day at the Jordanian Arabic Language Academy, in the presence of the Academy's President, Professor Dr. Muhammad Adnan Al-Bakhit, his deputy, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Badran, several Academy members, a number of academics, university professors, specialists, and a large audience. This is to affirm the status of the Arabic language and its civilizational and scientific role, and to enhance its presence in various fields of knowledge.​

The Iraqi cultural attaché lectures at the Faculty of Law

​​On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, the Faculty of Law at Applied Science Private University hosted His Excellency Dr. Khair Al-Din Al-Amin, the Iraqi Cultural Attaché, who delivered a specialized lecture entitled: "How to Write a Master's Thesis" to students in the Master's program in Cyber Law. The lecture addressed the methodology of critical thinking for graduate researchers, based on philosophical theories and established practical applications. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Dean of the Faculty of Law and faculty members expressed their gratitude to the guest for his valuable contribution, which enhanced the students' academic and research skills.​

Meeting with new students at the Faculty of Law for the academic year 2025/2026

On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, the Faculty of Law held an orientation meeting for new students in the late Haj Abdullah Abu Khadija Auditorium. The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, department heads, and faculty members. The meeting began with a welcome to the students and congratulations on their joining the Faculty of Law at the Applied Science Private University. The faculty's excellence and academic programs were emphasized. The meeting included a presentation of the faculty's most significant achievements over the past years, as well as a brief explanation of the study plan and advising programs. Students were reminded of the importance of their commitment to their academic path and the necessity of attending lectures regularly and fulfilling course requirements to achieve optimal learning outcomes. The presentation also highlighted the academic and professional skills the faculty cultivates in students, the teaching methods employed at the university, and extracurricular activities such as moot court sessions and field trips, which contribute to developing practical experience.

Applied Sciences Private University Law Students Conclude Academic and Community Program at Sultan Agung University in Indonesia

​As part of efforts to enhance international academic cooperation and develop students' skills, a number of law students from Applied Sciences University participated in an intensive academic and training program hosted by Sultan Agung Islamic University in Indonesia. The program ran from October 15 to November 3, 2025. The program included attending specialized lectures delivered by international professors, discussions with graduate students, field visits to several judicial and legislative institutions, and participation in community service initiatives. The students were supervised by Dr. Ali Al-Hammouri, and the program concluded with an official ceremony honoring the participants and exchanging commemorative plaques between the two universities.​​​​

Field Visit to the Amman Court of First Instance (Palace of Justice)

​On Thursday, November 20, 2025, the Faculty of Law at the University of Applied Sciences organized a field visit to the Amman Court of First Instance (Palace of Justice) in Amman, the capital city. The visit aimed to enhance students' practical experience and connect it to the theoretical concepts they learn in courses on civil procedure and enforcement law. This contributed to a deeper understanding of judicial procedures and the role of courts in resolving disputes. The visit included several departments within the court, including the Enforcement Department and the Notary Public's Office. The visit included a discussion session with a group of judges, who provided a detailed overview of the procedures followed in civil cases, from their registration in the court records, through the stages of hearings and the presentation of evidence and defenses, to the issuance and enforcement of judgments to ensure the fulfillment of the disputed rights. The judges also discussed the administrative and organizational mechanisms employed by the court in managing cases. At the end of the visit, the students were given the opportunity to engage in an interactive discussion with judges, court staff, and a number of lawyers on various legal topics, which contributed to enhancing their understanding of the practical aspects of litigation and strengthening the link between theory and judicial practice.​​​

The Faculty of Law won first place in the sixth edition of the International Humanitarian Law Moot Court competition and qualified for the regional competition.

The Faculty of Law at the Applied Science Private University is proud to announce its first-place win in the sixth edition of the International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition, organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross in cooperation with the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law.

This achievement qualifies the Faculty's team to represent the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the regional Moot Court Competition.

The competition saw the participation of fourteen Jordanian public and private universities and took place over two days, Monday and Tuesday, October 27 and 28, 2025, generously hosted by the Jordanian Judicial Institute.

The judging panels comprised a distinguished group of legal experts, including a military judge, a civil judge, and a practicing lawyer. They reviewed a hypothetical case before the International Criminal Court, concerning the secession of a territory from a state and the commission of war crimes and crimes against humanity by the head of that state against the seceding territory. This case served as practical training for law students in applying the rules of international humanitarian law and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. The college team in this competition consisted of students:

​The Faculty of Law at the Applied Science Private University is proud of the significant and global achievement of Dr. Tareq Al-Billah, one of its distinguished faculty members, both locally and internationally. His scientific research has achieved global influence, placing him among the top 2% of researchers in the world for the second consecutive time. This list is published by Elsevier, in collaboration with researchers from Stanford University.

This list is based on a global study conducted in collaboration between a research team from Stanford University and Elsevier, and aims to highlight scholars who have made a significant impact in their academic fields.

The list adopts a set of strict criteria, including the number of published research papers, the number of citations, and research performance indicators such as the H-index. These criteria are evidence of the scientific impact researchers have on a global level.

It is worth noting that Dr. Tareq Al-Billah is the only legal researcher from the Arab world to receive this prestigious international honor. With this achievement, we congratulate our colleague Dr. Tariq on this remarkable distinction, wishing him further excellence and beneficial and useful scientific and cognitive contributions. Under the generous patronage of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché, Dr.Khair Al-Din Al-Amin, the College of Law holds its 8th Annual Internal Moot Court Competition.

​​In an ongoing effort to enhance the practical skills of its students in international law, the Faculty of Law at Applied Science Private University held its 8th Annual Internal Arabic Moot Court Competition on Thursday, August 28, 2025. The competition, for the 2024/2025 summer semester, was titled "The Prosecutor v. Prima Ameer – The Situation in the Western Territory of Ardstan" and simulated a session before the Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court.

The event was held under the gracious patronage of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché, Dr. Khair Al-Din Al-Amin, and was attended by the university's president, Professor Dr. Samiha Jarrah. It was also supported by the faculty's deanship and faculty members, in line with the faculty's vision to prepare law students with the necessary skills to argue before international courts and judicial bodies.

Thirteen student teams competed in six rounds. Each team delivered a ten-minute oral argument before a specialized judging panel. The prosecution team took on the role of the prosecutor, while the opposing team represented the defense.

The judging panel was composed of several practicing lawyers: Mr. Mukhled Al-Daja, Ms. Raghad Al-Muhaysen, Ms. Raheeq Faisal, and Ms. Lara Al-Bajq.

The final results of the competition were as follows:

Best Prosecution Team: Yazan Al-Olabi and Ahmad Abu Hajla

Best Prosecution Advocate (Tied): Tulip Al-Masarweh and Shaykha Saeed

Best Prosecution Team: Lana Al-Khatib and Malak Al-Tawil

Best Defense Advocate: Mudhar Islam

At the end of the competition, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, His Excellency Dr. Haitham Abdullah Abu Khadija, honored the winning students and presented them with certificates of appreciation. He emphasized the importance of this type of practical training in preparing a new generation of legal professionals capable of representing national and humanitarian issues in international forums.​

The Faculty of Law at Applied Science Private University renews the accreditation of the International Law Program by Hcéres.

​​The French High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (Hcéres) has renewed its international academic accreditation for the Bachelor of Law program at Applied Science Private University, following a successful external evaluation conducted in May 2025, based on the highest European standards adopted by the Council.

As a result of this decision, the Bachelor of Law program has received full accreditation for a period of five years (from June 27, 2025, to June 26, 2030), reflecting the high quality of academic outcomes and the Faculty of Law’s ongoing commitment to educational excellence and institutional governance.

It is worth noting that Applied Science Private University was the first among Jordanian universities to obtain this accreditation initially, underscoring its pioneering role and continuous efforts to offer legal programs that meet the most rigorous global standards.​​

This achievement marks a significant milestone in the Faculty’s journey toward strengthening its position locally and regionally and realizing its vision of preparing qualified legal professionals in line with best international academic practices.

Field Visit to the National Committee for Women’s Rights in Amman

​​On Thursday, June 12, 2025, the Faculty of Law at Applied Science Private University organized a field visit for female students, accompanied by Dr. Ruba Hmaidān, to the National Committee for Women’s Rights in Amman. The visit aimed to introduce the students to the Committee’s role in economic and political empowerment within society.

During the visit, a presentation highlighted the national efforts undertaken to enhance women’s participation across various sectors, the challenges they face, and the role of law in protecting and empowering their rights both socially and professionally. The session was interactive, featuring questions from the students and a discussion addressing their key inquiries.

This visit aligns with the Faculty of Law’s commitment to bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application, providing students with the opportunity to engage with civil society institutions, and contributing to the development of a legally aware generation dedicated to advancing justice and equality.​

Field Visit to the Headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross Mission in Amman

On Thursday, May 15, 2025, the Faculty of Law at Applied Science Private University organized a field visit to the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mission in Amman, Jordan. The visit aimed to deepen students’ understanding of the Committee’s role in the promotion and development of International Humanitarian Law.

This visit was part of the Faculty’s ongoing efforts to bridge the theoretical aspects of International Humanitarian Law with practical applications, particularly for law students, in order to enhance their awareness of the significance of international legal frameworks in protecting human rights during times of conflict.

The visit included an introductory dialogue session addressing the mandate of the ICRC and its humanitarian role in conflict zones, along with a detailed explanation of the mechanisms employed by the Committee to implement International Humanitarian Law.

At the conclusion of the visit, students were given the opportunity to engage in an interactive discussion with the Committee’s representatives on various topics related to International Humanitarian Law, thereby contributing to a greater understanding and active engagement with the humanitarian and legal issues discussed.​

​The Third English Moot Court Competition at the Faculty of Law, Applied Science Private University, was held on Thursday, May 22, 2025. The competition was organized by Leek Noor Khawaja, Dr. Lana Al-Khalayleh, and Dr. Abdullah Thanibat during the second semester of the 2025 academic year, with the participation of six teams competing across three rounds. Each round consisted of a claimant team and a defense team presenting their arguments before the panel of judges: Attorney Amani Jabri, Dr. Malik Al-Khawaldeh, and Ms. Maya Al-Saifi. The case involved copyright issues concerning examination papers.

The competition results were as follows:

​​The Faculty of Law Participates in the 14th International Conference on Personal Data Protection in the Digital Age.

The Faculty of Law at Applied Science Private University participated in the 14th International Conference on Personal Data Protection in the Digital Age, organized by the Faculty of Law at Jerash University from May 3 to 4, 2025.

Dr. Talal Al-Raoud, Assistant Professor of Civil Law, took part in the conference with a research paper entitled: “The Legal Position on Intelligent Processing of Personal Data,” which was accepted and presented as part of the conference proceedings that brought together researchers from various Arab countries.

Through such participation, the Faculty of Law seeks to strengthen its academic presence, exchange legal expertise, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in emerging fields such as data protection in the digital era.​

Participation of the Faculty of Law at Applied Science Private University in the International Conference on Forensic Linguistics

​​As part of its commitment to supporting scientific research and promoting interdisciplinary studies, the Faculty of Law at Applied Science Private University participated in the international conference titled:

"Forensic Linguistics: Theories and Applications,"

organized by the Arabic Linguistics and Lexicography Program at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. The conference took place from April 28 to 29, 2025, at the Institute's headquarters in Doha, Qatar.

The Faculty was represented by Dr. Mohammad Khater, a faculty member, who presented a research paper entitled:

"The Language of Offenders in Threat Crimes Before Jordanian Courts: An Applied Study on Cases from 2023 and 2024."

The paper examined linguistic patterns employed in such cases and their implications for interpreting intent and threat within judicial proceedings, adopting a modern legal-linguistic analytical approach.

This participation reflects the Faculty’s ongoing efforts to encourage academic staff to engage in international scientific conferences and to explore emerging interdisciplinary research fields that foster integration between legal sciences and linguistics.​​

Applied Science Private University Participates in the Sixth Scientific Conference of the Association of Environmental Law Lecturers in Middle East and North African Universities (ASSELLMU)

​Applied Science Private University took part in the proceedings of the Sixth Scientific Conference of the Association of Environmental Law Lecturers in Middle East and North African Universities (ASSELLMU), held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This year's conference focused on the theme: “Water Security and Environmental Law in the Region”, and was organized by the College of Law at Al Sharqiyah Colleges from February 24 to 26, 2025, in Riyadh.

The University was represented by Dr. Ali Al-Hammouri, an expert in environmental legislation and a faculty member at the Faculty of Law at Applied Science Private University.

The conference brought together a distinguished group of academics and decision-makers from within and beyond the region. Discussions centred around enhancing education in environmental law to ensure the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to provide effective legal solutions to challenges related to water security.

​The conference was held under the supervision of the United Nations and in partnership with the Ministries of Education, Environment, and Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Approximately 70 experts and researchers from around the world participated. The event included specialists in environmental education, university lecturers, environmental law experts, and representatives from international organizations and specialized environmental agencies.

The primary objective of the conference was to exchange knowledge and expertise and to learn from shared experiences on how to strengthen the teaching and practice of environmental law in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to achieve water security.

Applied Science Private University distinguished itself through its active participation, notably with a presentation delivered by Dr. Ali Al-Hammouri titled: “Criminal Protection of Water Resources and Achieving Water Security in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.”

The presentation addressed Jordan’s national experience in protecting water resources, emphasized the importance of advancing environmental law education to meet current challenges, and showcased the University’s pioneering experience in the field of environmental education.​

Applied Science University Wins First Place Among Jordanian Universities in the Moot Court Competition on Commercial Arbitration Cases.

​The Faculty of Law team at Applied Science Private University won first place in the inaugural Moot Court Competition on Commercial Arbitration Cases for the 2024/2025 academic year, competing against 14 public and private Jordanian universities.  
The students were trained and prepared for the competition under the supervision of Dr. Abdullah Al-Dhneibat and Dr. Lana Al-Khalaileh from the Faculty of Law. The participating team members were Omar Gheith, Mohammed Al-Ayoun, Dana Bani Mustafa, Hamza Nakhleh, Lina Al-Sououb, and Moayad Awad.  
The competition was held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Jordanian Judicial Institute, under the patronage of Amman Arab University and Dar Al-Thaqafa for Publishing and Distribution. It aimed to enhance legal knowledge in the field of commercial arbitration. The competition plays a crucial role in raising awareness of arbitration and commercial law, fostering competitiveness and respect among participants, and equipping students with essential skills and experiences for practical life through pleadings before specialized arbitration panels.  
The Faculty of Law is committed to organizing moot court competitions twice every academic year (in both Arabic and English). These competitions serve as practical simulations of real court trials, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

The Faculty of Law is holding the 7th Internal Moot Court Competition.

​The Faculty of Law organized The College of Law organized the 7th Internal Moot Court Competition in Arabic for the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year on Sunday, January 12, 2025. The competition was titled "The Liability of the Authorized Partner in a General Partnership Company" and was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Haitham Abdullah Abu Khadija, and the University President, Professor Dr. Samiha Jarrah, as part of the college's commitment to enhancing students' skills.

The competition consisted of six rounds, with two teams competing in each round. Each team was composed of three members. The first team represented the plaintiffs, while the second team represented the defendants. Each team presented their legal arguments during a 15-minute oral pleading session.

The judging panel included attorneys: Abdullah Al-Amoush, a member of the Bar Council, Huda Nasr, and Rana Al-Muhairat.

At the conclusion of the competition, the final results were announced as follows:  

​1. Best Team Representing the Plaintiffs: Dina Al-Najjar, Jamal Obaidat, and Anmar Al-Khalaileh.  

2. Best Team Representing the Defendants: Tala Al-Rifai, Rayan Al-Surour, and Maryam Abu Odeh.  

3. Best Individual Plaintiff Advocate: Sara Al-Balawneh.  

4.Best Individual Defendant Advocate: Mohammed Abu Haikal.  

The winners were honored by the University President, Professor Dr. Samiha Jarrah, and the Dean of the College, Dr. Hamza Abu Issa.​

The Faculty of Law organizes the Legal Debate Competition for the first time in the academic year 2024/2025.

​ The Faculty of Law organized the Legal Debate Competition on Thursday 01/09/2025, in the presence of His Excellency the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, Dr. Haitham Abdullah Abu Khadija, Vice President of the University, Professor Dr. Saleh Al-Aqdah, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Hamza Muhammad Abu Issa, faculty members, and a number of guests, students and their families. The competition was held in three sessions, the first session: "This Council believes that illegal immigrants should be treated as criminals", the second session: "This Council believes that we are very strict in punishing cybercrime", and the third session: "This Council believes that the provisions related to attempted violent crimes should be the same as the provisions for violent crimes". In each session, a pro- and anti-debate team debated, each team included three speakers, each speaker presented the arguments he had prepared to support his position on the issue at hand, and refutation arguments to respond to the arguments of the opposing team, and according to the evaluation schedule presented to the honorable committee, points were calculated for the participants. The teams participating in the competition were judged by a committee consisting of: Arabic Language Professor Dr. Asim Bani Amer, Lecturer Moatasem Billah Dabash, and Lawyer Mr. Ahmed Mutawwa.

In the first round, the following team won: The Loyalty Team, which included students: Tulin Mustafa Abdul Hadi, Batoul Waseem Abdeen, and Layan Muhammad Issa.

In the second round, the Loyalty Team won: Zainab Thamer Hamid Al-Obaidi, Hadeel Ahmed Muhammad Al-Nusour, and Huda Jamal Jalal Juma.

In the third round, the Loyalty Team won: Jessica Hanna Al-Madanat, Muhammad Mahmoud Sayyah, and Hala Ahmed Jamal Abdul Khaliq. The Loyalty Team, which won the second round, won first place in the competition overall. The first place as the best speaker from the Loyalty teams was shared by the two students: Layan Issa and Hala Abdul Khaliq. The first place as the best speaker from the opposition teams was won by the student: Mudar Islam Jaidi.​

The importance of this competition lies in refining the students’ skills and personalities to help them face their professional challenges, by increasing their ability to discuss contemporary issues away from extremism and exaggeration, and by increasing their public speaking skills and respect for other opinions.

​On Thursday, December 19, 2024, the Faculty of Law organized a field visit to the esteemed Amman Court of First Instance (Palace of Justice) for students enrolled in the "Special Criminal Law" course, accompanied by the course instructor, Dr. Abdullah Al-Khusailat. The visit aimed to familiarize students with court procedures to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

During the visit, students observed the process of filing criminal cases, attended public court sessions, and learned about the procedures for implementing alternative penalties.

The Faculty of Law visits the Ministry of Labor.

On Thursday, December 19, 2024, the Faculty of Law organized a field visit to the Ministry of Labor. Students enrolled in the "Labor Law and Social Security" course, accompanied by the course instructor, Dr. Ruba Humaidan, were introduced to the operational mechanisms of the Ministry’s Inspection Department. 

They learned about the duties of labor inspectors, the process of inspecting establishments, and how violations are recorded. Additionally, students explored the functions of the Wages Authority, particularly its role in resolving wage disputes between workers and employers. The visit aimed to provide students with practical knowledge and experience, enabling them to connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications.​​

The Faculty of Law participates in the Regional Arab Course on International Humanitarian Law

​​The Faculty of Law participated in the Regional Arab Course on International Humanitarian Law, held from December 3 to December 9, 2024. The course was organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in collaboration with the League of Arab States and the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law in Egypt.

The event brought together officials involved in the application of International Humanitarian Law from various Arab countries, along with university professors and researchers. The Faculty of Law was represented by Dr. Ali Al-Hamouri, a faculty member.

The course, held in the Arab Republic of Egypt, aimed to introduce participants to the fundamental principles of International Humanitarian Law and enhance their capabilities to effectively contribute to its national implementation and the teaching of this law in their respective countries.​​​​

Lana Al-Khatib from the Faculty of Law wins second place in the 2024 International Humanitarian Law Research Competition

​​​​On Thursday 12/12/2024, the second edition of the research competition in international humanitarian law for law students in Jordanian universities concluded, where the winners were honoured as follows:

First place: Yumna Al-Hajj Hassan from the University of Jordan on the topic of enforcing international humanitarian law.

Second place: Lana Al-Khatib from Applied Sciences Private University on the topic of the application of international humanitarian law to cyber-attacks.

Third place: Sadeen Al-Malahama from Petra University on the topic of the application of international humanitarian law to cyber-attacks.

The Faculty of Law congratulates its distinguished student Lana Al-Khatib on the occasion of this victory, wishing her continued progress and success.

Lecture on Medical Liability at the Faculty of Law

On Sunday, November 24, 2024, the Faculty of Law hosted Dr. Munir Abu Al-Saman, President of the Jordanian General Practitioners Association, to deliver a scientific lecture on medical liability in Jordanian law.

​The lecture was aimed at students of the "Special Criminal Law (1)" course and included a discussion on the Medical Liability Law and the Doctors’ Syndicate Law. Dr. Munir addressed both civil and criminal liabilities of individuals involved in therapeutic procedures, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and others, highlighting the responsibilities they bear while performing their duties.​​

Visit of the Faculty of Law to the Amman Chamber of Commerce

​​On Thursday, November 21, 2024, the Faculty of Law at the Applied Science Private University conducted a field tour to the Amman Chamber of Commerce. During the visit, students enrolled in the Commercial Companies and Insolvency Law course acquired knowledge regarding the operational mechanisms of the Chamber, its designated functions, and the services it offers to merchants and commercial enterprises aimed at improving the business environment and augmenting the competitiveness of the economic and commercial sectors, as well as the key legal texts pertinent to commercial companies within the Insolvency Law of 2018. His Excellency Senator Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Bashar Muqbil, Deputy Director General of the Chamber, affirmed the Chamber's commitment to offering specialised expertise and knowledge to students, facilitating the integration of theoretical and practical elements.​​

The Second Internal Moot Court Competition in English 2023/24

​The English moot court competition was held at the faculty of law at applied science private university organzid by Dr. Mohammad Al Shiyab, Dr. Ruba Hmeidan, and Lec. Noor Khawajah for the second time in the second semester of the year 2024, with the participation of six teams in three rounds. Each round consists of a claimant's team and a defense team in front of members of the court, Dr. Esra'a Al-Qudah, Mrs. Amani Ja'abari, and Mrs. Shatha Shahen, where the facts of the case summarize transporting damaged coca beans from a Nigerian company to a Jordanian company. 

The competition's results were as follows:

* The best English moot court team for the claimant (Ayman Abu Khalil and Salma Dudin).

* The best English moot court team for the defendant (Jessica Madanat and Moa'ayad Awwad).

*The best English moot court attorney for the claimant (Jadallah Al Najdawi).

The Applied University wins first place in the electoral mock trial competition and the award for best litigator at the university level

​The Faculty of Law team won first place in the electoral mock trials for the year 2023/2024, and at the level of Jordanian public and private universities, and student Dana Bani Mustafa won the award for the best litigant in the competition.

It is worth noting that this competition is organized annually by the Independent Election Commission in cooperation with the Jordanian Judicial Council and the Partnership Project, and the competition aims to enhance the role of youth in political participation and how to resolve electoral disputes. The importance of this competition, which is a means of spreading awareness of election laws and political parties and introducing students to electoral appeals, comes through pleadings before a judicial body formed for this purpose, and raising the spirit of competition and respect for opponents and acquiring the skills and experiences necessary for practical life.

19 Jordanian public and private universities participated in the competition in the northern, central and southern regions, and at the end, His Excellency Mr. Ammar Al-Husseini, a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, distributed awards and certificates to the participants.

The students were trained and prepared for the competition by Dr. Tariq Al-Bala and Dr. Ali Al-Hamouri from the college. The members of the applied team of participating students are: Dana Bani Mustafa, Tamara Al-Sayyida, Yara Al-Abbadi, San Abu Daabes, Muhammad Al-Ayoun, Alaa Saad, Hamza Nakhleh, and Rand Al-Samadi. The College of Law is keen to hold mock trials twice each academic year (in Arabic and English), as these mock trials are a form of practical simulation of real trials, and bridge the gap between legal theory and practical application by training to acquire the necessary skills to conduct pleadings before the court.​​

The Faculty of Law visits the Companies Control Department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade

​On Thursday, 4/18/2024, the Faculty of Law at the Applied Science Private University organized a field visit to the Companies Control Department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade. During the visit, students of the Commercial Companies and Insolvency Law course, accompanied by the course instructor, Dr. Lana Al-Khalayleh, learned about the mechanism for registering companies through the website in line with the digital transformation, and the most prominent legal amendments to the Jordanian Companies Law. The students also learned about the department’s services guide and its forms. His Excellency the Companies Controller, Dr. Wael Al-Armouti, confirmed that the department is interested in providing specialized expertise and knowledge to students, which enables them to link the theoretical and practical aspects.​​

The sixth internal moot court competition in Arabic 2023/2024

On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, the Law's faculty organized the sixth internal moot court competition in the Arabic language, in the first semester of the academic year 2023/2024, based on its belief in the importance of refining students’ skills to plead before the courts and understand the legal procedures in managing court sessions.

The competition was held in five rounds, in each round two teams competed, the first team represented the role of the Public Prosecution, and the second team represented the role of defending the accused, and each team pleaded for ten minutes in which it explained its arguments, opinions, and requests in the pleading, as the subject of the case revolved around the crime of accepting cash amounts, in order to vote, contrary to the provisions of Article (63) of the Election Law for the House of Representatives No. 4 of 2022 and in accordance with Article (26) of the Cybercrime Law No. (17) of 2023, the suspect published on his personal page on a social networking site a post in which he spoke about his possession a number of voters' votes in exchange for money for anyone interested in that. Accordingly, the Public Prosecution conducted technical expertise and found witnesses who confirmed the acts of suspicion, while the accused presented his evidence and witnesses in an attempt, he acquitted himself of this charge.

The judging committee was formed from an elite group of practicing lawyers, namely: The lawyer Mr. Zuhair Al-Balawneh, The lawyer Mr. Salem Esso, and The lawyer Mr. Ahmed Al-Khasilat. They relied on local and international standards to evaluate the students’ performance in the competition.

At the conclusion of the competition, the final results were announced, below are the winner's names:

• The two students:  Lynn Al-Aouf and Carla Al-Suwais (the best pleading team from the prosecution side).

• The two students:  Muhammad Al-Oyoun and Omar Hassan (best defending team).

• The student: Rahma Darraj (best individual plaintiff from the prosecution).

• The student: Rand Al-Sammadi (best individual pleader on the defense side).

In addition to that, the winners were honored by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Hamzah Abu Issa.”.

​The Faculty of Law at Applied Science Private University , congratulates their outstanding student, Yara Al-Abbadi, for winning first place in the second research competition for law students at the level of Arab universities. The competition focused on "The Global Framework of Climate Law and Its Impact on Arab Legal Systems," organized by the Scientific Association of Law Colleges/Arab Law, in collaboration with the College of Law at the United Arab Emirates University. Yara Al-Abbadi participated with her research titled "Climate Justice Between Global and Middle Eastern Perspectives​​"​

​The Faculty of Law participated in the annual United Nations Climate Change Conference, which was held in the United Arab Emirates from December 6 to 10, 2023. Dr. Ali Al-Hamouri, a faculty member specialized in international law and environmental legislation, participated in the Jordanian delegation participating in the conference. It is worth noting that this global summit is held annually, in which countries, in the presence of leaders, specialists and experts, in addition to civil society organizations from all countries of the world, discuss ways to confront the climate crisis, whose negative impact on human rights around the world is increasing.
