Professor Dr. Hamza Muhammad Abu Issa, Professor of Criminal Law, and Professor Dr. Saad Abdullah Meqdad, Professor of Linguistics at the Faculty of Arts, received the Best Translated Book Award from the Jordanian Arabic Language Academy for 2025 on Thursday, December 18, 2025. This award recognized their distinguished scholarly translation of the book "Linguistic Justice: International Law and Language Policy" by Jacqueline Mowbray, from English into Arabic. The translation is a rigorous scholarly work that combines law and language, enriching the Arabic library with contemporary thought. The award ceremony took place on World Arabic Language Day at the Jordanian Arabic Language Academy, in the presence of the Academy's President, Professor Dr. Muhammad Adnan Al-Bakhit, his deputy, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Badran, several Academy members, a number of academics, university professors, specialists, and a large audience. This is to affirm the status of the Arabic language and its civilizational and scientific role, and to enhance its presence in various fields of knowledge.
