28-29/4/2025
As part of its commitment to supporting scientific research and promoting interdisciplinary studies, the Faculty of Law at Applied Science Private University participated in the international conference titled:
"Forensic Linguistics: Theories and Applications"
organized by the Arabic Linguistics and Lexicography Program at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. The conference took place from April 28 to 29, 2025, at the Institute's headquarters in Doha, Qatar.
The Faculty was represented by Dr. Mohammad Khater, a faculty member, who presented a research paper entitled:
"The Language of Offenders in Threat Crimes Before Jordanian Courts: An Applied Study on Cases from 2023 and 2024."
The paper examined linguistic patterns employed in such cases and their implications for interpreting intent and threat within judicial proceedings, adopting a modern legal-linguistic analytical approach.
This participation reflects the Faculty’s ongoing efforts to encourage academic staff to engage in international scientific conferences and to explore emerging interdisciplinary research fields that foster integration between legal sciences and linguistics.
