The Technical College at Applied Science Private University was established in response to the Royal Vision aimed at developing technical and applied education in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This vision seeks to qualify human resources for the labor market by providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills across various technical and vocational fields. This educational sector has become one of the most important pillars of human resource development in Jordan, as it focuses on building the professional and technical capacities required to prepare a workforce capable of driving the wheels of production and services.
Applied Science Private University has consistently taken the lead in advancing the quality of applied and technical education through academic programs designed to enhance critical thinking and self-learning skills, and to equip students with practical and life skills that supply the local and regional labor markets with highly competent graduates. Accordingly, approval was granted to establish the Technical College at Applied Science Private University in July 2024, pursuant to the decision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research No. (7652).
In its first academic year (2025/2026), the Technical College launched the first group of its diploma-level programs, totaling four programs. Three of these are national diploma programs, and one is a British diploma (BTEC), as follows:
- Intermediate Diploma in Garment and Accessories Production Technology (Applied).
-Intermediate Diploma in Digital Media Applications (Applied).
-Intermediate Diploma in Fine Arts and Crafts (Applied).
- British Diploma in Computing – Software Engineering (BTEC).
As the College seeks to offer both national and British (BTEC) diploma programs, accreditation was obtained from Al-Balqa Applied University for the national diploma program curricula to ensure their alignment with the requirements of the Comprehensive Examination for students wishing to bridge after completing their diploma studies. With regard to the British (BTEC) diploma programs, Applied Science Private University has been accredited by Pearson Education as a licensed center to deliver BTEC programs and issue certificates accredited by the British awarding body.
In its commitment to providing students with the best opportunities for applied and technical education, the College has prepared the Student Affairs Deanship building, in its first phase, to serve as the headquarters of the College Deanship, faculty offices, as well as classrooms and laboratories. According to the University’s plan, the entire building will be developed over the next two years to become a fully integrated facility and center for students enrolled in technical and applied diploma programs.
The College also seeks to develop a range of facilities, including workshops and laboratories for training purposes, to support its students’ educational experience, in addition to offering training courses and technical consultancy services to the private sector, contributing to the development of operational systems and the enhancement of human resource capacities.
