Under the generous patronage of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché, Dr.Khair Al-Din Al-Amin, the College of Law holds its 8th Annual Internal Moot Court Competition.

​In an ongoing effort to enhance the practical skills of its students in international law, the Faculty of Law at Applied Science Private University held its 8th Annual Internal Arabic Moot Court Competition on Thursday, August 28, 2025. The competition, for the 2024/2025 summer semester, was titled "The Prosecutor v. Prima Ameer – The Situation in the Western Territory of Ardstan" and simulated a session before the Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court.

The event was held under the gracious patronage of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché, Dr. Khair Al-Din Al-Amin, and was attended by the university's president, Professor Dr. Samiha Jarrah. It was also supported by the faculty's deanship and faculty members, in line with the faculty's vision to prepare law students with the necessary skills to argue before international courts and judicial bodies.

Thirteen student teams competed in six rounds. Each team delivered a ten-minute oral argument before a specialized judging panel. The prosecution team took on the role of the prosecutor, while the opposing team represented the defense.

The judging panel was composed of several practicing lawyers: Mr. Mukhled Al-Daja, Ms. Raghad Al-Muhaysen, Ms. Raheeq Faisal, and Ms. Lara Al-Bajq.

The final results of the competition were as follows:

Best Prosecution Team: Yazan Al-Olabi and Ahmad Abu Hajla

Best Prosecution Advocate (Tied): Tulip Al-Masarweh and Shaykha Saeed

Best Prosecution Team: Lana Al-Khatib and Malak Al-Tawil

Best Defense Advocate: Mudhar Islam

At the end of the competition, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, His Excellency Dr. Haitham Abdullah Abu Khadija, honored the winning students and presented them with certificates of appreciation. He emphasized the importance of this type of practical training in preparing a new generation of legal professionals capable of representing national and humanitarian issues in international forums.
