Applied Science Private University Strengthens Its Social Responsibility through an Oral and Dental Health Outreach Campaign in Partnership with SOS Children’s Villages and the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD)

​As part of its commitment to serving the community and promoting social responsibility, the Faculty of Dentistry at Applied Science Private University organized an oral and dental health outreach campaign in collaboration with SOS Children's Villages Jordan and the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD). The initiative was carried out within the framework of a partnership aimed at supporting children's health and reinforcing the concept of integration among academic, developmental, and community institutions.

​​​The campaign included clinical dental examinations for children, along with providing oral health awareness sessions and guidance on proper dental care, in addition to implementing the necessary preventive measures. These efforts contributed to raising health awareness, promoting preventive care practices, and improving children's oral and dental health.


This initiative reflects Applied Science Private University's leading role in utilizing its academic expertise and scientific capabilities to serve the community and strengthen cooperation with national institutions. It also aligns with the University's vision of preparing graduates who possess academic excellence, humanitarian values, and a strong sense of social responsibility.


The Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD) contributed to supporting and ensuring the success of this initiative by promoting developmental and volunteer efforts and strengthening cooperation among various institutions to serve beneficiary groups and achieve a sustainable community impact. Meanwhile, SOS Children's Villages Jordan provided the appropriate environment for implementing the program and reaching the targeted children.


Held under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Radwa Al-Sharqawi, and organized and supervised by Dr. Kamal Al-Mubasher, in cooperation with the International Organizations Division at the International Relations Office of Applied Science Private University, the campaign provided dentistry students with an opportunity to apply their clinical skills in a real-world field setting, while enhancing the values of volunteerism, teamwork, and community engagement under the supervision of faculty members.


At the conclusion of the campaign, Applied Science Private University reaffirmed its continued commitment to launching impactful community initiatives and strengthening cooperation with national and international institutions in a way that contributes to community service and creates a positive and sustainable impact. The University also expressed its appreciation and gratitude to all partners and participants who contributed to the success of this initiative.

ASU Hosts the Second Session of Research Capacity Building Workshops in Collaboration with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)

As part of its continuous efforts to advance the research environment and enhance the academic and practical skills of its students, Applied Science Private University hosted the second session of the “NRC Research Capacity Building Workshops” series, delivered by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).

The workshop witnessed active participation from undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as a number of interested academics and administrative staff. The workshop focused on the following themes:

- Humanitarian Data Collection

- Quantitative Analysis using Excel

- Introduction to Power BI

- Data Visualization and Analysis

The workshop aimed to develop participants’ research skills and strengthen their capacities in data analysis and the use of modern technological tools in scientific research and humanitarian work, with remarkable engagement from the participating students.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants were awarded certificates of attendance in recognition of their active participation and commitment to the training requirements.​​

Applied Science Private University Signs Cooperation Agreement with MyFundAction to Implement Youth Programs with Community Impact in 2026

​Applied Science Private University signed a cooperation agreement with MyFundAction, aiming to implement youth programs with a positive social impact throughout 2026.

The agreement includes three main programs: a social project supporting refugee camps on March 7, a cultural exchange program on May 19 and 20, and an international youth summer camp from September 12 to 16.

According to the agreement, both parties will collaborate on media promotion and event implementation. MyFundAction will handle training and on-ground management, while the university will provide manpower, facilities, and support student participation.

The collaboration was officially documented through the signing of the agreement on March 10, 2026, where the university was represented by Prof. Feras Elhajji, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and MyFundAction was represented by Irfan Iskandar bin Ahmad Masri, Operations Manager for the Middle East and Africa.

Both parties emphasized that this partnership aims to strengthen the role of youth and create a positive impact on the community.​

Applied Science is a key partner in an international project to shape the future of sustainable energy in the region…

Applied Science Private University (ASU) is participating as a key partner in a high-impact international project titled “Energy Futures on Campus in the Middle East,” jointly funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the develoPPP program. The project is implemented in partnership with Imam Ja’afar Al-Sadiq University (IJSU) – Baghdad, and in cooperation with Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the University of Münster in Germany. The project leverages advanced German expertise in modeling future energy systems through 2050, while transferring scientific and applied knowledge tailored to the Jordanian and Iraqi contexts.

The project aims to support the transition toward a sustainable and resilient energy future in both Jordan and Iraq, through advanced energy system modeling and the implementation of innovative solutions on university campuses, transforming them into living models of energy transition across the region.

The selection of Applied Science Private University as a partner in this international project reflects the confidence of German institutions in the university’s academic and research capabilities, as well as its ability to implement strategic projects with regional impact, particularly in the fields of renewable energy, applied education, and scientific research.

The project is built around three main pillars, most notably:

- Transforming university campuses into leading, self-sufficient models powered by renewable energy.

- Establishing specialized facilities for realistic energy modeling (Energy Lab) within the university.

- Launching advanced academic programs, including a Master’s and Diploma program in Engineering of Systematic Sustainable Energy Futures (ESSEF) at Applied Science Private University, and an ESSEF Certificate Program at Imam Ja’afar Al-Sadiq University.

The project also provides access to advanced, high-performance software and hardware, integrating scientific, communicative, and aesthetic dimensions into energy models. This approach enhances the educational experience and applied research, while strengthening the link between academic knowledge and real-world applications.

ASU’s participation in this project is the result of specialized academic efforts led by Dr. Mohammad Hamdan from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, reflecting the university’s commitment to supporting international research initiatives that contribute to sustainable development and innovation.​

ASU Hosts Research Capacity Building Workshops in Cooperation with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)

​As part of its ongoing efforts to develop the research environment and provide high-quality training opportunities for its students and academic and administrative staff, the University is hosting a series of research capacity building workshops delivered by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), under the title: "NRC Research Capacity Building Workshops ".The workshops aim to build participants' capacities in the following areas:

 -  Conducting scientific research with refugees in accordance with ethical and research standards.

 - Understanding the nature of non-governmental organizations and their mechanisms of work.

 - Preparing participants for training on the fundamentals of working in the field of humanitarian relief.

The Norwegian Refugee Council, in cooperation with the University, will award certificates of participation to those who successfully complete the training requirements.

These workshops come within the framework of the University's commitment to strengthening partnerships with international institutions and equipping students and staff with research and professional skills that contribute to community service and responding to contemporary humanitarian challenges.​​
