The rapid emergence of antibacterial resistance calls for the development of novel and effective lock solutions to eradicate and prevent biofilm formation on urinary catheters. In this study, the anti-biofilm and anti-adhesion effectiveness of triclosan, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) and cranberry alone or in combinations were investigated against three uropathogenic E. coli species, in addition to E. coli ATCC 8739. clinical isolated strains of Escherichia coli (E. coli) embedded in biofilm onto all-silicon Foley catheter surface.
