“Architectural designing of Sanatorium on the Dead Sea Coast (Jordan) in Modern Conditions”

The research aims to set appropriate standards and foundations for organizing Sanatorium buildings in the Dead Sea region by studying the local and global experience of the Sanatorium building design, to determine the most important principles and factors affecting the design process of these building in the Dead Sea conditions.
The medical and health importance of this area, climate and natural factors, customs and traditions, and its impact on the design process were taken into consideration. The study showed the absence of the local design standards and regulations for these buildings, and their random formation in the planning space, in addition to privacy, the natural conditions of the area.
Basic principles have been established in terms of the distribution of this type of building in relation to the capacity, within an organizational and planning network. The formative functional structure of the buildings was defined and spaces and areas were defined for each type of these buildings and the appropriate aesthetic and technical treatments were developed taking into consideration the customs, traditions and historical heritage.
