The Social and Cultural Committee, in collaboration with the Community Service Committee and students’ union at Applied Science Private University, organized a workshop for academic and administrative staff as well as students in the World Antibiotic Awareness Week (corresponding to 18 to 24/11/2022) under the title:
Antimicrobial resistance: beyond the surface and the role of the pharmacist on Tuesday 22/11/2022.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ahmed Al-Rasasi – the General Manager of Al-Noor Drug Store. It included several topics centered on the causes of the problem of antimicrobial resistance, ways to rationalize the consumption of antibiotics, and introducing and educating students and academics about their pivotal role in this regard.
Prof. Dr. Iman Basheti, the President of the University, Dr. Firas Al-Hajji, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Dr. Loai Saadah, the Rapporteur of the Committee, presented the lecturer with a certificate and a plaque of appreciation.
