Dr. Amin Omar, Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Assistant Dean at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Applied Science Private University (ASU), recently completed a research visit to Manchester, UK, as part of his ongoing academic collaboration with Professor Andrew McBain and his research group at the University of Manchester. This marked the second consecutive year of Dr. Omar’s academic and research engagement with the University of Manchester. Following his previous visit, this year’s visit focused on further developing the existing collaboration and advancing a number of joint research projects in the fields of pharmaceutical microbiology and antimicrobial research. The visit also provided an opportunity for academic exchange and discussions with Professor McBain and members of his research group, including PhD students, as well as continued work towards the development and preparation of scientific manuscripts resulting from collaborative research. The continuation of this collaboration reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment to strengthening international academic and research partnerships, facilitating knowledge exchange, and creating opportunities for faculty members and postgraduate researchers to engage with leading international research groups. Through sustained international collaboration, the Faculty continues to expand its research networks and contribute to the development of joint scientific outputs in areas of relevance to pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences.
