On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy at the faculty of pharmacy organized a scientific lecture entitled “Obesity: Pathological, Therapeutic, and Nutritional Aspects.” The lecture, presented by Dr. Anfal Al-Dala’een from the Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, targeted fourth- and fifth-year students. It covered several important topics, including the physiological and hormonal mechanisms of obesity, the latest trends in pharmacological treatment, and the role of nutrition, lifestyle, and physical activity in preventing and managing obesity. The lecture aimed to enhance students' knowledge of the scientific and clinical aspects of obesity and raise their awareness of the importance of addressing it as a multifactorial health condition requiring a comprehensive understanding of the disease, its treatment, and nutrition.
