MSc student Lara Nasereddin is one of the young researchers at the e-AGE25 Conference in Jordan.

Lara Nasereddin delivered an oral scientific presentation entitled: "Antimicrobial Activity, Phytochemical Screening, and Determination of Glucosinolates in Sisymbrium officinale (Brassicaceae) Plant: Conventional Versus Microwave Green Extraction Methods”, under the supervision of Dr. Shady Awwad, at the 15th Conference “Taking the region beyond”, under the theme “Unifying minds”, organized by the Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN).

In her presentation, the student showcased her study on the Sisymbrium officinale plant, which compared conventional and green methods of glucosinolate extraction, as well as phytochemical screening techniques and their effects on microbes. This research is considered the first of its kind to provide a comparative study of this nature.

Lara was the only young researcher representing Jordan and was selected among the top ten emerging researchers from the Arab region. She was also awarded the Recognition and Appreciation Award in honor of her outstanding research contribution.
