Establishment of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering has been an essential and progressive part of the College of Engineering since its establishment in 1992. The first cohort of students graduated in 1997.

The Mechanical Engineering specialization addresses a wide array of technical and industrial fields, including mechanical design systems, power generation and renewable energy, HVAC systems, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and computer-aided design and manufacturing.

The Industrial Engineering specialization covers diverse fields, such as computer-aided design and manufacturing, production processes, engineering management, project management, industrial automation, quality assurance, and operations research.

The department features a distinguished faculty with extensive academic and research experience, supported by skilled engineers and trainers. Additionally, the department offers numerous laboratories that enable students to engage in hands-on applications, reinforcing their understanding of theoretical concepts.
