From May 27 to 29, 2025, the Faculty of Art and Design at Applied Science Private University held thesis defenses for graduate students in the Department of Interior Design. These sessions were conducted in the presence of esteemed academic committees composed of distinguished scholars from both within and outside the university. This initiative reflects the faculty’s continued commitment to graduating researchers equipped with critical thinking and advanced analytical skills.
The internal committee included Professor Dr. Emad Al Fahmawee, Professor Dr. Essam Odah, Professor Dr. Osama Hassan, Dr. Mahmuod Ismael, Dr. Anas Shamaileh, Dr. Saeed Alhmoud, and Dr. Ruba Jadallah. External examiners from several Jordanian universities also took part, including Professor Dr. Ashraf Al-Khattat, Dr. Haifa Bani Ismail, Dr. Nasser Al-Moghrabi, Dr. Yousef Sokienah, Dr. Asem Obeidat, and Dr. Mayada Fahmi.
During the three-day event, six students presented their theses: Rania Al-Momani, Lana Haif, Raghad Amjad Dawood Ibrahim, Hadeel Haitham, Lina Naqeeb, and Haya Sub Laban. Each of them delivered high-quality academic research that reflected in-depth inquiry and thoughtful analysis. The topics addressed contemporary and innovative issues related to the field of interior design, engaging with both local and global challenges. The defenses demonstrated a high level of academic maturity and the ability to connect theoretical frameworks with practical applications, while strictly adhering to the standards of rigorous scientific research.
This initiative aligns with the faculty’s broader vision of promoting a culture of research and creativity, and of preparing academic and professional leaders capable of making a meaningful impact in the art and design sectors.
