15-6-2025

As part of its continuous efforts to integrate academic knowledge with practical application, the Faculty of Art and Design at Applied Science Private University – Department of Fashion and Accessories Design – organized a specialized workshop titled “Building Brands in the Field of Leather Products”, in collaboration with Eng. Ahmad Al-Maghrabi, founder of the brands Jeld and Jeld Home.

The workshop attracted remarkable participation from students of the department and addressed key topics related to establishing a successful brand and the challenges faced by designers in the leather goods market. Eng. Ahmad Al-Maghrabi shared his inspiring experience in building his own brand, shedding light on the psychological, economic, and artistic dimensions that make this specialization a fertile ground for innovation and excellence on a global scale.

The workshop also included a practical component that allowed students to engage directly in crafting leather products using traditional hand techniques, under the direct supervision of the guest speaker. This hands-on experience enriched the students’ skills and deepened their understanding of the connection between design, craftsmanship, and market relevance.

Students expressed their enthusiasm and appreciation for this inspiring experience, which broadened their perspectives and bridged artistic creativity with the entrepreneurial dimension of fashion and leather product design.
