In alignment with Applied Science Private University’s vision of promoting experiential learning and bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application, the Department of Fashion and Accessories Design at the Faculty of Art and Design organized an educational field visit to the “First Choice” Textile and Printing Factory, located in North Marka. This visit was conducted as part of the coursework for the “Nature of Fabrics” course.
This initiative is part of a broader series of educational activities adopted by the university to strengthen the applied dimension of learning and integrate theoretical foundations with hands-on experience — a strategy that enhances students’ readiness for the job market with both competence and distinction.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to closely observe the various stages of fabric production and the printing techniques used, in addition to engaging directly with industry professionals. This exposure significantly broadened their perspectives and deepened their understanding of workflows within this vital sector.
The visit exemplifies Applied Science Private University’s commitment to supporting the dynamic and creative field of fashion and accessories design — a discipline that demands a balanced blend of artistic skills, academic knowledge, and practical experience.
This visit also reflects the faculty’s overarching vision of preparing a generation of designers equipped with the competence, creativity, and innovation needed to excel in both local and global fashion markets, and to actively contribute to the advancement of this ever-evolving industry.
