In a true reflection of Applied Science Private University’s commitment to fostering creativity and promoting sustainability, the university proudly participated in the “Water Management and Entrepreneurship 2025” competition through a distinguished team of Interior Design students from the Faculty of Art and Design: Ahida Bseiso, Noor Mowafaq, and Yara Guevara.
The competition took place between March and May 14, 2025, with support from the French Development Agency (AFD), in collaboration with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, and in partnership with the Jordan Youth Innovation Forum and the Jordan Green Building Council (GBC). The event aimed to empower youth to develop innovative solutions to water management challenges and to raise awareness about the importance of the sustainable use of this vital resource.
During the competition, the students participated in a specialized two-week training program that included intensive workshops on entrepreneurship and design thinking, as well as mentoring sessions with experts and engineers from southern Jordan. The experience also featured a field visit to the Samra Wastewater Treatment Plant, offering participants a unique opportunity to gain deeper insights into real-world challenges and to propose practical, impactful solutions.
This journey culminated in a remarkable achievement: the team secured fourth place at the national level with their innovative project “Noqta”, which was praised by the judging panel for its concept, creativity, and execution. As a result of their excellence, the team was awarded a fully-funded, one-year training grant in green building practices, provided by the Jordan Green Building Council.
This participation is part of a broader series of initiatives that reflect the university’s ongoing efforts to inspire its students to contribute to building a more sustainable future. It also reinforces the culture of innovation as a core element of the educational experience—aligning with contemporary challenges and empowering youth to lead transformative change.
