As part of its commitment to social responsibility and strengthening partnerships with international humanitarian organizations, Applied Science Private University, represented by the Faculty of Art and Design, concluded a specialized Digital Photography training course organized in cooperation with Doctors Without Borders under the cooperation agreement between the two parties.
The course was designed for war-injured individuals and their companions, with the aim of equipping them with professional knowledge and practical skills in digital photography. It sought to empower participants by providing hands-on experience that would enable them to pursue a profession aligned with their interests and passions while creating sustainable employment opportunities upon their return to their home countries.
The course was given by Dr. Ali Hammouri, it combined theoretical and practical components covering the fundamentals of digital photography, visual composition techniques, lighting, and visual storytelling. Participants also engaged in intensive practical workshops that enhanced their technical and creative abilities, enabling them to produce photographic works that demonstrated their effective use of imagery as a medium for expression and communication.
The training witnessed remarkable engagement from participants, who showed great enthusiasm for developing their artistic and professional skills while benefiting from the expertise shared throughout the program. The course also contributed to strengthening their readiness to enter the job market and pursue digital photography as a future career.
The program concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony attended by Prof. Firas Al-Hajji, Vice President of Applied Science Private University; Prof. Emad Al-Fahmawee, Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design; and Mr. Obada Al-Asimi, Patient Support Supervisor at Doctors Without Borders. During the ceremony, they emphasized the importance of such collaborative initiatives in empowering beneficiaries, enhancing their skills, and opening new opportunities for their professional and social integration.
