As part of its commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with national institutions, the Faculty of Art & Design at ASU, represented by the Department of Fashion Design and Accessories, signed a cooperation agreement with the Garment design and training services center. The agreement aims to expand collaboration in the areas of training, professional qualification, and skills development, contributing to the preparation of highly qualified professionals who meet the needs of the apparel and fashion industry.
The signing ceremony was attended by Eng. Ihab Al-Qadri, the Leather and Garments Industries Sector representative at the Jordan Chamber of Industry and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Apparel Design and Training Services Center; Mr. Hassan Al-Nsour, Executive Director of the Apparel Design and Training Services Center; Eng. Obaida Abu Eid, representative of the International Trade Centre (ITC) through the MENATEX Project; Prof. Emad Al-Fahmawee, Dean of the Art and Design faculty; Dr. Sara Al-Kateeb, Head of the Fashion Design & Accessories department; and Dr. Olivia Hijazi, faculty member in the department.
This agreement reflects ASU’s ongoing commitment to building effective partnerships with leading national institutions. It is designed to strengthen the practical dimension of the educational process while providing students of the Department of Fashion Design & Accessories with valuable opportunities for hands-on training, professional development, and exposure to the latest practices in the apparel manufacturing industry.
Both parties emphasized the importance of this partnership in fostering innovation and creativity while strengthening the integration between academic education and labor market requirements. The collaboration aims to prepare graduates who possess the competence and readiness to compete at both the local and regional levels, reflecting ASU’s mission of achieving academic excellence and serving the community through cooperation with various productive and development sectors.
