ASU has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Vocational Training Institute as part of its efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships and develop training and professional programs. The Vocational Training Institute was represented by H.E. Eng. Raafat Sawafeen, its Director General, while the university was represented by its President, Prof. Samiha Jarrah, in the presence of Dr. Haitham Abu Khadija, Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
The signing also included an annex agreement with the Faculty of Art & Design, attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Emad Al Fahmawee, and Dr. Sarah AlKhateeb, Head of the Fashion and Accessories Department, alongside a distinguished group of administrators and academics from several faculties: the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Information Technology, and the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences. This presence underscores the significance of the collaboration and its impact across various academic disciplines at the university.
The agreement aims to enhance areas of mutual cooperation by implementing specialized training programs at various professional levels, developing and qualifying human resources on both sides, and executing Train-the-Trainer programs in accordance with the latest professional standards and available capabilities.
This step aligns with ASU’s commitment to expanding its network of national partnerships in a way that elevates the quality of applied education and strengthens its alignment with labor market needs.
