The Department of Interior Design at the Faculty of Art and Design at Applied Science Private University organized a specialized workshop titled “Principles of Fire Safety in Interior Environments According to Local Codes,” delivered by Eng. Mohammad Al-Ashqar. The workshop was held as part of the Laws and Regulations in Interior Design course, under the supervision and coordination of Dr. Dania Abdelaziz.
The workshop aimed to equip students with essential knowledge of fire safety and prevention in interior spaces, while enhancing their understanding of the requirements of approved local codes and standards. This initiative contributes to raising students’ professional awareness and their ability to design interior environments that meet the highest standards of safety and protection.
The workshop formed part of a series of practical activities within the course, designed to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application, and to provide students with hands-on experience aligned with real-world professional practices.
The session witnessed active student engagement through discussions and interactive contributions, focusing on the application of theoretical concepts to interior design projects. This interaction played a key role in strengthening students’ understanding of safety considerations within built environments.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design, Professor Dr. Emad Al Fahmawee, presented a certificate of appreciation to Eng. Mohammad Al-Ashqar in recognition of his efforts and valuable contribution in delivering rich academic and practical content that enhanced the students’ learning experience and supported their academic and professional development.
