22-1-2026

As part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening its academic and professional presence at regional & international levels, the Faculty of Art & Design at ASU participated in the advanced Training of Trainers (ToT) program on “Compliance with Sustainability Standards and Frameworks in the Textile and Apparel Sector.”

The program was organised within the framework of the international MENATEX initiative, in cooperation with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, it was hosted in Amman at the Signia by Hilton Hotel from the 20th to 22nd of January 2026.

The first two days of the program focused on deepening technical knowledge of global sustainability standards, European Union regulatory requirements, and the use of International Trade Centre (ITC) tools to support small and medium-sized enterprises. The third day featured active participation in a high-level workshop that brought together representatives from the industrial sector, policymakers, and institutional partners to discuss practical mechanisms for implementing sustainability on the ground.

This participation reflects the vision of the Faculty in integrating sustainability concepts into fashion design curricula in alignment with contemporary global trends. It also reaffirms the commitment of ASU to empowering its staff and students by engaging in global dialogues that shape the future of the textile and fashion sectors, thereby contributing to supporting the national economy on scientific and sustainable foundations.
