The Department of Interior Design at the Faculty of Art & Design at Applied Science Private University concluded this month the defense of five master’s theses that addressed significant and specialized research topics in the field of interior design. These theses reflected the diversity of contemporary research directions and their strong connection to issues of sustainability, health, and the quality of the indoor environment.
The theses explored a wide range of advanced research issues in interior design, including:
1- The impact of using artificial intelligence applications on the design process and its outcomes in interior design firms in Jordan, by Aya Abu Ghazal.
2- The impact of smart architecture systems and technologies on the interior design of administrative buildings and their reflection on functional performance, by Sarah Fouad Al-Tamimi.
3- The impact of biophilic interior design in educational buildings on the psychological and behavioral aspects of students in Jordan, by Mais Basem Shaltaf.
4- An investigation of the role of Feng Shui theory and its effect on the health and behavior of occupants in interior environments, by Areej Ibrahim Hamdan.
5- The impact of using smart materials in architectural openings on achieving thermal efficiency of the indoor environment in residential buildings in Amman, by Dana Yousef Al-Badawi.
The thesis defenses were held in an academic atmosphere characterized by seriousness and constructive scientific dialogue. The examination committees praised the high academic quality of the theses and their importance in supporting scientific research and advancing professional practices in the field of interior design.
