The Faculty of Arts and Design at Applied Science Private University hosted a student delegation from the Islamic Educational College Schools as part of a series of workshops organized by the Faculty’s Community Service Committee. The workshops were held in two stages: the first on Thursday, November 13, and the second on Thursday, November 20, with the participation of thirty-six female students. The delegation was accompanied by Lec. Fatma Samara, who introduced them to the faculty exhibition and the various majors offered at the faculty.
The students participated in a variety of workshops representing the different specialties within the Faculty of Art and Design. Dr. Ahmad El-Barbary and Dr. Olivea Hejaz led a workshop on fashion sketching & design, and model body proportions. Meanwhile, Dr. Sarah AlKhateeb and Mr. Mohammed Salem delivered a workshop on designing & creating accessories as well as drawing on gemstones.In Addition, Dr. Ruba Jadallah and Lec. Mohammad Sobuh conducted a workshop titled “Design Your Room”, focusing on recycling and using different materials.
Both visits concluded with the accompanying teachers expressing their appreciation for the Faculty’s role in supporting and guiding student talent, emphasizing the importance of such experiences in enriching the students’ artistic sensibilities. For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design, Prof. Emad Al-Fahmawee, affirmed the Faculty’s and the University’s commitment to fostering creativity and artistic excellence among school students. He noted that these initiatives align with the University’s vision of serving the community, nurturing young talent, and reinforcing its pioneering role in promoting a culture of art, design, and innovation.
