In alignment with the vision of the Faculty of Art and Design at Applied Science Private University to offer students a comprehensive and practical learning experience integrated with academic knowledge, the Department of Interior Design organized a field visit to the Wasfi Al-Tal Museum in Al-Balqa as part of the “Rehabilitation of Heritage Buildings” course.
The visit brought together around one hundred students from several class sections, accompanied by Dr. Ruba Jadallah and Lec. Oraib Alsbaihi. During the visit, students had the opportunity to closely examine the architectural details of the heritage building and identify areas that had undergone restoration, enhancing their understanding of how to approach and preserve historic structures. The museum served as a practical case study that students will continue to analyze and develop as part of their coursework.
This field experience also provided valuable insights into the principles of heritage architecture and the methods of preserving its historical character, contributing to the enhancement of students’ practical and creative skills.
Such initiatives reflect the Faculty’s commitment to preparing a generation of aware and capable designers who can effectively bridge theoretical knowledge with professional practice — serving the community while preserving Jordan’s rich cultural and architectural heritage.
