Applied Science Private University reaffirmed its distinguished presence in academic and creative forums, as students from the Department of Interior Design at the Faculty of Art and Design won four awards in the 7th Interior Design Students Competition for Jordanian Universities, organized by the Jordanian Interior Design Association (JIDA). The results were announced on Monday, 10 November 2025.
This year’s competition centered on a project titled “Study Hub”, a two-floor facility located at St. George Resort in Al-Fuheis, designed for third-year students within the Tourism Interior Design module. A total of 29 projects from six public and private Jordanian universities participated, reflecting a competitive and inspiring environment.
ASU students excelled in the competition, securing four distinguished awards:
Second Place (tie): Ahmad Alahmad for the project “JFT”
Third Place: Noor Abushakra for the project “Core and Code”
Excellence Award for Best Concept Design: Yasmin Sammour for the project “Suhail”
Special Excellence Award: Hanan Sa’Deh, in recognition by the jury for the outstanding quality of her concept and design approach
The award ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Emad Al Fahmawee, Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design, Dr. Saeed Alhmoud, Head of the Interior Design Department, and Lec. Baha Mualla. During the ceremony, the Dean received a certificate of appreciation on behalf of the university in recognition of ASU’s active participation and the remarkable performance of its students.
The Faculty of Art and Design extends its sincere congratulations to its students on this notable achievement, which reflects their high level of academic dedication and highlights the advancement of the Interior Design program and its strong capacity to compete at the national level.
