The Department of Interior Design at the Faculty of Art and Design at Applied Science Private University organized a field visit to Taj Mall on Thursday, November 6, 2025, as part of the Retail Interior Design course requirements, under the supervision of the course instructors.
The visit aimed to provide students with a practical opportunity to observe real-world design applications in retail environments, and to analyze their elements from a comprehensive professional perspective. During the tour, students examined a range of design aspects, including spatial layout, circulation paths, storefront design, lighting systems, material and finish selection, and product display methods.
They also analyzed the relationship between brand visual identity and in-store design elements, as well as, studying visual guidance mechanisms, that enhance visitor experience within retail spaces.
At the end of the visit, students prepared documentation reports that included their field observations and analyses, supported by photos and diagrams, along with proposals to improve existing design aspects.
This visit served to deepen the students’ applied understanding and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of retail design, contributing to the refinement of their skills and preparing them to enter the job market with efficiency and a well-rounded aesthetic and functional awareness.
