The Journey of Creativity in the World of Printmaking

6-11-2025

As part of the activities organized by the Drawing Club Committee at the Faculty of Art and Design, a Printmaking Workshop was held on Thursday, November 6, in the faculty’s printmaking laboratories, conducted by Lec. Fatma Samara.

The workshop brought together around 30 students from various departments of the faculty, who were introduced to the history of printmaking, the tools and techniques used in this art, and the proper ways to handle and apply them.

During the session, students engaged in hands-on practice using linoleum, producing creative works inspired by portraits, nature, and Arabic calligraphy. By the end of the workshop, they learned how to apply printing techniques on different materials, including cardboard and fabrics such as T-shirts and tote bags.

This workshop is part of the Drawing Club’s semester plan of activities, which aims to enhance students’ artistic skills, encourage creative expression, and connect them with practical experiences in the field of art and design.
