As part of the academic cooperation agreement between Applied Science Private University (ASU) and Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (UNISSULA) in Indonesia, the Faculty of Art and Design—represented by the Department of Interior Design—participated in an international design event hosted by UNISSULA, with a delegation of five distinguished students.
The program featured a series of academic and experiential activities, including field visits to several mixed-use buildings, offering students valuable exposure to diverse architectural and design models. The event also provided an opportunity for cross-cultural exchange and collaboration with students from various regional and international universities. This enriching experience broadened participants’ perspectives and enhanced their creative and analytical skills in interior design and applied arts.
Dr. Saeed Alhmoud, the academic supervisor accompanying the delegation, emphasized that this participation exemplifies the philosophy of learning through experience, as it enables students to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world contexts and acquire practical insights beyond the classroom.
The Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Art and Design affirmed that such international engagements reinforce ASU’s global academic presence and represent a significant step toward nurturing culturally aware and professionally equipped designers. The Faculty also commended the students’ outstanding performance and active involvement throughout the program.
This participation aligns with ASU’s broader strategy to promote international academic exchange, prepare its students for global learning environments, and integrate creative innovation with applied professional practice—bridging knowledge, culture, and design excellence on an international scale.
