Department Head Message
Welcome to the Department of Fashion Design and Accessories at the faculty of Art and Design. A place where imagination is transformed into form; ideas evolve into innovation, and creativity becomes a meaningful professional journey. Fashion is more than clothing; it is a powerful language through which cultures express identity, heritage, and vision. In our department, we believe that designers have the ability not only to create beauty but also to influence society, shape industries, and contribute to the development of creative economies.
Guided by the vision of the faculty and aligned with international standards in design education, our academic program is built on a strong foundation that integrates creativity, research, technical mastery, and professional practice. Our goal is to nurture a new generation of designers who think critically, innovate boldly, and approach design with responsibility and awareness of its social and cultural impact.
Students in the Department of Fashion Design and Accessories are encouraged to explore design as a dynamic process of discovery. Through drawing, material experimentation, garment construction, digital design technologies, and conceptual development, they learn how to transform ideas into tangible creations. This journey enables students to analyse design challenges, develop multiple creative solutions, and communicate their ideas with clarity and confidence.
Our learning environment is designed to inspire experimentation and originality. With specialized studios, advanced laboratories, and collaborative creative spaces, students are provided with the tools and environment needed to develop their artistic identity while acquiring the professional skills required by the contemporary fashion industry. Through workshops, exhibitions, and collaborations with industry professionals, students gain valuable practical experience that prepares them for future careers.
At the same time, we emphasize the importance of cultural identity and sustainability in design. Fashion today must respond to global challenges while respecting and celebrating local heritage. We encourage our students to draw inspiration from cultural traditions and reinterpret them through contemporary design thinking, ensuring that creativity remains meaningful, innovative, and socially responsible. Together with our dedicated academic team, we strive to prepare designers who are not only skilled professionals but also visionary leaders capable of shaping the future of fashion and design.
