First scientific day for ASU’s Dept. of Mathematics

Under the patronage of ASU’s President Prof. Samiha Jarrah and her vice-presidents, the Department of Mathematics held its first scientific day. The event was attended by Al Al-Bayt University Vice-president Prof. Ahmed Al-Alawneh and Dr. Hamza Al-Kassasba from Ajlun National University. It also hosted Prof. Shaher Al-Momany from the University of Jordan, who is renowned to be among the top 2% of the world’s researchers. 

The activity included introductory talks and interactive workshops on the significance of mathematics and its applications in several fields. There was also an exhibition to show diverse projects of mathematical posters and models, and students made presentations. The winners in the posters and presentations competition were honored.

​It was a vivid atmosphere, which promoted innovation and exploration to enhance the department’s role in enriching quality education, progress towards excellence and cultural activity at ASU.

ASU holds cooperation agreement with RAM pharma

ASU has signed a cooperation agreement with RAM pharma in a bid to support scientific research and training for the Department of Chemistry at the company’s labs. ASU was represented by ASU President Prof. Samih Jarrah and RAM by the CEO Waseem Al-Najmi. The event was attended by Head of the Jordanian Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, a member of the Arab Union of the Manufacturers of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Appliances, Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Wamidh Al-Ta’i, Head of the Department Prof. Ahmed Abu-Rayyan, Dr. Waed Alahmad, and RAM’s Technical Manager Dr. Ashraf Khreisat.​

We will stay as long as thyme and olives are there!

​Under the slogan “We will stay as long as thyme and olives are there,” ASU’s Department of Chemistry held its first event on testing olive oil, patronized by ASU President Prof. Samiha Jarrah.
​​The activity included checking the olive oil produced by ASU and the chemical and laboratory methods employed to test the quality. Chemistry students checked several samples before the audience and showed the results. There was also a corner for popular foods served with olive oil, in addition to Tabun bread baked on site.
