Under the slogan “We will stay as long as thyme and olives are there,” ASU’s Department of Chemistry held its first event on testing olive oil, patronized by ASU President Prof. Samiha Jarrah.
The activity included checking the olive oil produced by ASU and the chemical and laboratory methods employed to test the quality. Chemistry students checked several samples before the audience and showed the results. There was also a corner for popular foods served with olive oil, in addition to Tabun bread baked on site.
