Applied Science Private University participates in the Free Medical Day at the Islamic Scientific College Alumni Club under the theme “Golden Age Health” by delivering a lecture on the pharmacist’s role in combating antimicrobial resistance.

Applied Science Private University, represented by the Faculty of Pharmacy, participated in the seventh Free Medical Day held at the Islamic Scientific College Alumni Club under the theme “Golden Age Health.” The event was held under the patronage of the Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court, Yousef Hassan Al-Issawi, and organized by Nobles Sustainable Development Company, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the Blood Bank, the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, and a number of hospitals and private-sector companies.

During the event, Dr. Rajaa Al-Qudah from the Faculty of Pharmacy delivered a specialized lecture entitled “The Role of the Pharmacist in Combating Antimicrobial Resistance: Local Realities and Lessons Learned from Global Experiences.” The lecture addressed the vital role of pharmacists in promoting rational use of antibiotics and raising community awareness about the risks associated with their misuse. The topic was particularly timely as it coincided with the World Antimicrobial Awareness Week organized annually by the World Health Organization.

Dr. Al-Qudah emphasized that pharmacists represent the first line of defense against antimicrobial resistance by providing accurate scientific counseling to patients, ensuring that medications are dispensed based on proper medical diagnosis, and participating in national awareness campaigns aimed at preserving the effectiveness of these essential drugs.

The organizers praised the active participation of Applied Science Private University in this humanitarian health event and commended its scientific and community contributions that strengthen collaboration among academic institutions, the health sector, and civil society organizations.

This participation reflects the university’s commitment to its social responsibility and its dedication to empowering students and faculty members to contribute to national initiatives aimed at enhancing public health and improving the quality of life within the Jordanian community.
