​Dr. Elham Othman, a faculty member at the Faculty of Nursing at Applied Science Private University, participated in the AHA MENA Healthcare Forum 2026, held in Dubai, as a member of the Scientific Committee. During the forum, Dr. Othman also delivered a poster presentation showcasing a specialized research study on methods of teaching Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), aimed at enhancing the competencies of healthcare professionals and improving emergency response outcomes.

This participation reflects Applied Science University’s commitment to strengthening its presence in international scientific forums, supporting research activities, and encouraging faculty members to exchange knowledge and expertise in ways that contribute to the advancement of healthcare education and improved learning outcomes.​

The Applied Science University Life Support Center held the BLS Instructor Essential Course

​The Applied Science University Life Support Center held the BLS Instructor Essential Course as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the skills and competencies of ASU academic staff and healthcare professionals in Basic Life Support and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The course was conducted under the supervision of regionally AHA accredited instructors, including Ms. Asmaa Al-Sharif from the Ministry of Health and Mr. Loay Sahawneh from the Specialty Hospital, with the participation of Dr. Elham Othman from the Faculty of Nursing at Applied Science University, and in cooperation with Dr. Laith Khairy, a certified instructor from the Jordan Olympic Committee. The program combined advanced theoretical instruction with hands-on practical training in accordance with the latest approved standards.

The course aimed to qualify participants as certified BLS instructors by enhancing their teaching, assessment, and course management skills, ultimately contributing to improved healthcare quality and emergency response readiness.

The Applied Science University Life Support Center reaffirmed its commitment to organizing specialized training programs in collaboration with national and academic accredited institutions, in support of the healthcare sector and community service.​​​​

CPR Awareness Event at Applied Science Private University

In celebration of CPR Month and following the lead of the American Heart Association (AHA), the Life Support Training Center at Applied Science Private University (ASU LSTC) proudly conducted a hands-on training event on October 16, 2025.

Over 70 students from Nursing faculty participated in practical sessions focused on:

​- Hands-Only CPR

- AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Use

- Choking Response

​The event aimed to raise awareness of the importance of immediate response in cardiac emergencies and to empower students with life-saving skills.​​

Applied Sciences Private University Life Support Training Center at the faculty of Nursing has been officially accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) to offer Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) courses.
​​​It is worth noting that the Applied Sciences Private Life Support University Training Center is the first academic training center to obtain accreditation to offer the Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course. This represents a major step and a guarantee to achieve the vision of the university and faculty`s mission to continuously improve the skills of health care practitioners in Jordan.
