Masters Abstract

Contrasting Voices and Media Framing: a comparative study of Hamas and Fatah Political Discourses in Palestine.

This study examines a comparison between the political discourses of Hamas and Fatah, as the two main political actors in Palestine, focusing on how each movement expresses its ideological positions, political objectives, and identity through language. The research also explores the role of local and international media in shaping public perceptions of each movement.

The study is based on the principle of contrastive discourse analysis, aiming to uncover the linguistic and rhetorical differences between the two movements, particularly in relation to issues such as the right of resistance, diplomacy, legitimacy, national unity, peace, and the nature of relations with the international community and Israel.
