Under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Samiha Jarrah, and in the presence of his Excellency the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Private University of Applied Sciences, Dr. Haitham Abu Khadija, the Faculty of Nursing, in cooperation with the Jordanian Breast Cancer Program represented by Dr. Reem Al-Ajlouni, and Ibn Al-Haytham Hospital, organized an event entitled (A Step Towards Life... Get Examined) with the aim of raising awareness and early detection of breast cancer, on Thursday 10/24/2024 at the University Conference Center. The event included awareness presentations and an educational lecture presented by Dr. Leen Damra on breast cancer, the importance of early detection and self-examination. The activity included an educational play and a success story of a cancer survivor. A specialized medical team from Ibn Al-Haytham Hospital conducted a clinical examination to detect the disease, and a charity bazaar was held with the participation of a number of university colleges, the proceeds of which were allocated to cancer patients. Women from the local community participated in the attendance and benefited, in the presence of members of the local community council for the Shafa Badran and Abu Nuseir area. Nursing College students and university students participated in this awareness activity, confirming the concept of community work and team spirit that characterizes the University of Science.
