Effect of different coffee bean roasting with addition of cardamom on blood cholesterol levels.

This study was conducted in the year 2000. Results indicate that consumption of coffee increases blood cholesterol levels. Coffee prepared from light roast with cardamom addition (Saudi coffee) is the least hypercholesterolemic whereas is found to be the highest.in addition, it was found that cardamom addition decreases the hypercholesterolemic effect of coffee.
