The Faculty Development Center at Applied Science Private University organized a specialized workshop entitled “The Use of AI Tools in Education”, aimed at enhancing faculty members’ skills in integrating artificial intelligence into teaching and academic practice.

The workshop was delivered by Dr. Bashar Alshouha and held at the 21B122 Computer Lab, Faculty of Dentistry, over two days on Sunday 21/12/2025 and Tuesday 23/12/2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, with an interactive coffee break included. The event attracted faculty members from various colleges who are interested in modernizing teaching methods and improving educational outcomes through technology.

The workshop covered a wide range of topics, beginning with an introduction to the role of artificial intelligence in higher education, highlighting what AI can offer university instructors and the importance of staying up to date with emerging AI tools. Participants were introduced to key categories of AI applications currently used in education. Practical sessions focused on AI tools for creating lecture slides and course materials, summarizing course content, and producing educational videos, including fast video generation and talking avatar lectures. The workshop also explored AI-powered tools for image generation, diagrams, and infographics to enhance visual learning. In addition, the workshop addressed AI tools designed to improve student engagement, such as interactive platforms, AI-powered teaching assistants, and tools for creating assignments and assessment rubrics. Attention was also given to how AI can enhance faculty productivity by supporting administrative tasks and, optionally, research assistance.

The program concluded with a discussion of ethical and practical considerations related to AI use in education, followed by live demonstrations, a Q&A session, and the sharing of useful resources. This workshop reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to faculty development and innovation in teaching and learning, in line with global trends in digital transformation and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in higher education.
