Scientific Publishing Skills in Scopus-Indexed Journals and Artificial Intelligence Skills for Scientific Research

​The Faculty Development Center at Applied Science Private University organized a specialized workshop entitled “Scientific Publishing Skills in Scopus-Indexed Journals and the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Scientific Research” on Thursday, April 16, 2026. The workshop was held as part of the academic year 2025–2026 activities, with the participation of faculty members from the humanities colleges who are interested in publishing research in Arabic. The workshop began with a session delivered by Prof. Hamza Abu Issa, who addressed key skills required for publishing in journals indexed in the Scopus database. He discussed the essential characteristics of publishable research, the stages of preparing a manuscript in line with international standards, and how to select an appropriate journal. He also highlighted common challenges faced by researchers, such as editorial rejection and strategies to overcome it, warned against predatory.

A coffee break followed, offering participants an opportunity for discussion and exchange of experiences. In the second session, Lec. Tariq Alhasan presented a lecture on the use of artificial intelligence in scientific research. He introduced fundamental concepts of AI and its role in enhancing the research process, showcased tools that support literature search and academic writing, and emphasized the ethical considerations of using such technologies. He stressed the importance of responsible use to improve research quality while maintaining academic integrity. The workshop aimed to equip faculty members with advanced skills in scientific publishing and the effective use of modern technologies in research, thereby contributing to improving the quality of scholarly output and strengthening the university’s presence in international databases.
