The Faculty Development Center at Applied Science Private University organized a training workshop entitled “Digital File Management” as part of the 2025–2026 academic year activities. The workshop was held on Monday, February 9, 2026, and was repeated on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a coffee break from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The workshop was delivered by Ms. Amneh Shaban from the Faculty of Information Technology. It aimed to enhance faculty members’ skills in managing and organizing digital files and using modern storage tools in ways that improve the efficiency of academic and educational work.
The workshop covered several key topics, including an introduction to different types of digital files, the nature of their content, and methods for storing, organizing, and managing them. It also included an explanation of the concept of cloud storage, along with practical demonstrations on the use of OneDrive and Google Drive. In addition, the workshop addressed how to share links instead of uploading cloud-stored files directly to the Edugate platform, with the aim of reducing the storage space used on the platform.
Furthermore, the workshop provided a practical demonstration on creating and managing a dedicated YouTube channel for educational videos, in addition to discussing methods for protecting digital content and setting appropriate access permissions, as well as raising faculty members’ technical awareness regarding the effective use of educational platforms.
This workshop comes as part of the center’s ongoing efforts to develop faculty members’ skills and keep pace with the digital transformation in education.
