Dr. Anas Shrinah

Anas Shrinah is an assistant Professor at the Applied Science University and an Honorary Senior Research Associate at the University of Bristol. 

Anas’s current research focuses on leveraging AI methods to generate effective test cases that enhance confidence in the safe and correct operation of cyber-physical systems.

Anas hold a PhD in Verification and Validation of planning-based autonomous systems, an MSc in Robotics with Distinction, and a first-class honours BEng in Computer and Automation Engineering. Additionally, he is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

With over 14 years of experience in both academia as a lecturer and researcher, and industry as an instrumentation and control engineer, Anas brings a blend of critical thinking, technical expertise, project management skills, and hands-on industry knowledge to his roles.​

  • My research interests focus on advancing Human-Robot Collaboration (HRC) systems by improving collaboration and increasing confidence and trust in the safe operation of collaborative robots. These systems have a wide range of applications, including robotic arms in factories, rovers in farms and warehouses, exoskeletons and rehabilitation robots, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and autonomous vehicles. This research interests span a range of multidisciplinary areas that include human intention and behaviour modelling, task scheduling and planning, safety and functionality verification and validation.​
