The Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies at Applied Science Private University was established by a decision of the Board of Trustees in early January 1998, in accordance with Article (9/2) of the university’s internal regulations No. (1) of 1993, and based on the Private Universities Law No. (19) of 1989. This establishment reflects the university’s recognition of the significance of scientific research in enhancing the skills of faculty members, supporting researchers, and fostering academic productivity.
The deanship provides incentives for faculty members, which has contributed to advancing the university’s research achievements and increasing the number of publications in specialized scientific journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. As a result, Applied Science Private University has distinguished itself as the leading private Jordanian university in terms of research publications in Scopus.
Supporting Academic and Career Development
To align with labor market demands, the deanship, in coordination with other university faculties, aims to offer scholarship opportunities for students to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees at prestigious international universities ranked among the top 500 universities according to QS, Shanghai, and TIMES rankings.

Academic and Research Support
To support faculty members’ academic careers, the deanship has established clear promotion guidelines and career progression policies. The university has also recently introduced scientific leave regulations, allowing faculty members to collaborate with international universities and renowned research centers.
The deanship encourages faculty members to participate in scientific conferences indexed in Scopus, SCIE, SSCI, SCI, and AHCI, both locally and internationally. Additionally, it supports scientific book reviews, enabling faculty members to have their works evaluated for promotion or teaching purposes, and provides financial support for outstanding publications.
Scientific Publications
The deanship supervises the publication of the Jordanian Journal of Applied Sciences, which includes two categories:
- Humanities
- Natural Sciences
The deanship provides an opportunity for researchers from both inside and outside the university to publish their studies in the journal, further promoting academic research and knowledge dissemination.
