​​​​​​Research Title :The of Credibility of Media Weather among the Jordanian Publica Comparative Study “The Department of Meteorology and Arabia Weather

Abstract :Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the credibility of weather reporting among Jordanians conducting a comparison between the report released by the Meteorological Department and Arab Weather. Methods: The study used a descriptive approach survey targeting media audiences. The study sample consisted of 300 individuals from the capital city of Amman. The questionnaire was distributed electronically through the Greater Amman Municipality's Facebook page. Results: The study results showed that Jordanians’ trust in weather reporting, whether from "Arab Weather" or the Meteorological Department, was moderate. The results also showed the reports released by "Arab Weather” seemed to be more accurate in weather forecasts when compared to those of the Meteorological Department. The evaluation of the Meteorological Department was average. The results also showed that the objectivity of both "Arab Weather" and the Meteorological Department was moderate. The credibility of weather reporting among Jordanians was also moderate. Conclusions: The study recommends making weather reporting more appealing. It also recommends developing diverse platforms for providing weather forecasts such as creating mobile applications, websites and social media to attract a larger audience. It is also important to establish partnerships between different weather forecasting resources to improve the accuracy and objectivity of weather reporting

​​​​​Research Title :Mobile Journalism Skills of Field Reporters of TV Channels

Abstract :The article aimed to identify the level of mobile journalism" skills that field reporters in Jordanian TV channels have. It adopted the survey methodology and applied it to an available sample of (56) reporters. The results showed that self-skills (most important are journalistic sense and observation skills and skills of adapting to smartphones) came first. Professional skills (most important are the skills of communicating with sources, and the skills of transmitting, publishing, and distributing media materials) came second. While technical skills (such as the skill of searching for and verifying information, images and videos, and skills of protecting and securing information) came in the third and final order, being the least of the skills for field reporters. The results also revealed that the most important ethical standards for mobile journalism for reporters are avoiding fabricating journalistic stories, respecting religions, and preserving the confidentiality of sources. Finally, the results concluded that there is a correlation between mobile journalism skills and commitment to ethical standards in the production of media content via mobile

​​​​​Research Title :The Ideology of the Politician Discourse in Talk Shows: An Analytical Study- 3-

Abstract :The article aims to explore the ideology of Jordanian politicians discourse in the talk shows, based on Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) in its ideological aspect, and by applying Van Dijk ideological square. The population has been the program Friendly Fire" (NiranSadeeqah) that is broadcast on Amman TV. Seven episodes have been analyzed (of which, their airtime accumulated to (5 hrs. and 51 minutes) that hosted seven Jordanian prime ministers. The analysis categories have been determined based on Van Dijk ideological square; (Emphasizing positive things about Us, emphasizing negative things about Them, De-emphasize negative things about Us, De-emphasizing positive things about Them). The results concluded that the ideology of the Jordanian politicians discourse sought primarily to De-emphasize of the negativity related to the Jordanian politician (36.4%), with (2.07 hrs.) of the seven episodes. At the second rank, the Jordanian politicians discourse focused on emphasizingthe positivity of politician Jordanian (28.7%) with (1.52.30 hrs.). Thirdly, they sought to “Emphasize negative things about others” (19.7%) with (01:06:20 hrs.). Finally, they focused on “De-emphasizing positive things about others" (15.2%) with (0:45:30 hrs

​​​​​Research Title :The Attitude of the Jordanian Media Discourse towards Israel 2017-2021

Abstract :Objectives: This study aimed to identify the direction of Jordanian media discourse towards Israel. Methods: The study used the critical discourse analysis (CDA) method. Articles from opinion writers were analyzed using the newspaper's archive in the "Ideas and Positions" section. The analysis was based on the Meta Data archive database, which contained a total of 5022 articles with their linguistic structures.Results: The study found that the word "Israel" was mentioned 1588 times, accounting for 31.62% of the total repetitions. The term had the highest frequency of occurrence in 2017 and 2019, with rates of 8.04% and 9.08% respectively. The research sample also showed a higher frequency of total negative vocabulary and linguistic structures in the years 2018, 2019, and 2017, with rates of 11.43%, 11.05%, and 10.06% respectively. The Jordanian media discourse towards Israel was determined to be 49.14% positive, 36.60% negative, and 10.20% neutral.Conclusions: It is recommended to exercise more scrutinyin the use of vocabulary and linguistic structures with positive significance when writing opinion articles for Jordanian newspapers. This is in line with the collective trend of rejecting negative normalization in public opinion. Additionally, caution should be exercised when using the term "Israel" in articles, as it carries a strong positive connotation in the local Jordanian media

Abstract :The paper aimed to identify the reasons for the emergence of media in Arab societies through a theoretical framework and presentation of relevant studies on the origin of media and their political and economic aspects (Systematic Literature Review). Several Arab studies were surveyed and compared with foreign studies. The study found that the emergence of media in the Arab world was due to the needs of political regimes, and the needs of political regimes also drove the development of these media. The study recommended that the concept of needs should be considered in studies that examine media in the Arab world in terms of their relationship with politics, economy, and society. It also suggested conducting statistical analyses that confirm the role of the needs Approach.

​​​​​Research Title :The Ideology of the Israeli Digital Diplomacy Discourse in Jordan - An Analytical Study

Abstract :This study aims at knowing the ideology of the Israeli digital diplomacy discourse in Jordan and identifying the positive ideological connotations emphasized through the content of the Facebook page of the Israeli Embassy in Jordan "Israel in Jordan", as well as identifying the negative ideological connotations that the discourse of Israeli digital diplomacy in Jordan aims to remove through it's Facebook pageMethods: The study analyses the content of the page of the Israeli Embassy in Jordan “Israel in Jordan”, and based on the use of the critical discourse analysis approach in media discourse.It is based on the Van Dijik part related to the ideological box in The discourse that examines the ideological connotations in the discourse,and through a deliberate sample of the content of the page on Facebook. The study sample consists of (58) posters containing a picture attached to a text. Results: This page displayes a positive image of Israel-being scientifically, technically and industrially advanced country. The page emphasizes on removing the negative characteristics of the State of Israel, the most important of which was "that Israel is not a racist or religiously extremist state".Conclusions: The study recommends that Jordanian digital diplomacy, represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, should create a page for the Jordanian Embassy in Israel, highlighting the origin of the ideological and political dispute between Jordan and Israel, because Facebook pages are not elitist and can reach the Israeli public

Abstract :The study aimed to identify the role of the digital media in improving the image to advance Arab societies in the context of intellectual vacuum among young people through the dimensions related to the study (the family, the country, the digital media, the image, intellectual security and the youth group). The study aimed to identify the viewpoint of the family, the country, the digital media, the image, intellectual security and the youth group), depending on the gender variable. The study sample was represented in a random manner ranged between different categories of Jordanian families, an intentional random sample of state employees and a selected sample of digital media workers of different ages and jobs. The researcher used the analytical descriptive approach. The study proved that the general average of intellectual vacuum related to the role of media in improving the image was good in relation to the family dimension. It was also good in relation to the country dimension, the digital media dimension, the image dimension, the intellectual security dimension, and the youth category. It was also found that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the average of the family, the country, and the digital media in relation to the new roles of the digital media, due to gender variable.

​​​​​Research Title :The Media Framing of Islamists in Arabic Cinema: Adel Imam’s Movies as a Model

Abstract :This study investigated the media framing of Islamists in Arabic cinema analyzing Adel Imam’s movies as a model in order to identify the character, theme, and role frames through which Islamists were depicted. The qualitative method was used employing thematic analysis to yield results. Media frame analysis was utilized to study three frames: the “character frame,” the “theme frame,” and the “role frame.” A number of conclusions were reached, the chief among which was that the sub-frames exploitation, naivety, and pragmatism were the most salient “character frames” in Adel Imam’s movies. As for the “theme frame,” exploiting religion was the most frequent theme in the movies sample, followed by contradiction, terrorism, and unreality. In the “role frame,” it was discovered that most of the Islamist roles in the movies sample were secondary roles

Abstract :This study aimed at establishing guidelines that moderate Islamic media discourse and free it from extremism and negativity. In doing so, Islamic media discoursewould reach all people and serve as a foundation for positive reshaping of Muslims’ awareness.The qualitative inductive methodology was used to study the Quran, the Prophet’s Hadith, and the Sharia objectives as the sources of Islamic media discourse. From these sources, 12 guidelines were derived to make Islamic media discourse more moderate and positive. Abstract :This study aimed to identify the media framework for the Israeli propaganda on Facebook. The study used the descriptive approach and the method of content analysis by means of the content analysis form from 1/1/2018 to 25/3/2018. The results of the study came in the category of strategic framework ranked first in the publications of the spokesman of the Israeli army, 36.966% and the category of media sources has replaced the category of reliance on him as a source in the first place by (25.555%). The local geographical area category is superior to the category of regional and international domains by 65.534%. In the categories of attachments used, Of 65.181% The percentage of the percentage of responses was a strong percentage in the first place with 55.567%, and the rate of reaction rate (comments) came strong category by 39.603%.

Abstract :This study aims to identify the role of academic courses in media colleges in enabling students to understand the concept of media education, and the study was based on the concept of media education, and the study used the descriptive approach in the aspect of the survey of the masses of students of the Faculty of Media at the Middle East University, and gathered information through the study tool questionnaire And, the randomly chosen study sample consisted of 105 students, 35% of the college’s total of 307 students, enrolled in the second semester of 2019-2020. The study found that the degree of the role has come average (2.32), and that the skills of knowledge of critical thinking have come high and amounted to (2.63), and the rest of the cognitive skills came with an average degree, and that the differences for students to be able to learn the skills of critical thinking, were in favor of the first academic level And for the benefit of the average is acceptable, and that there are no differences between (gender, educational level, and the GPA) and between students being able to understand media education.

Abstract :: Objective: This study aimed to identify the degree of application of the Kingdom TV channel of the standards of public service television broadcasting in its performance from the perspective of media professors in Jordanian universities. Methodology: The study sample consisted of 52 faculty members who hold a PhD degree in media in Jordanian universities, and the method of surveying the audience of the mass media was used to achieve the study objective. Results: This study results indicated that the total standard deviation of the degree of application of the Kingdom TV of the standards of public service television reached 0.394, which entails that there is no dispersion in the answers of the study sample but there is consensus among the respondents towards the application of public service television standards in the performance of the Kingdom TV, and that the average overall calculation of the Kingdom’s application of public service television standards in its performance was 2.13, which indicated that the Kingdom TV application of public service standards in its performance was moderate.

​​​​​Research Title :Interactivity in the Jordanian Electronic Newspapers: A Comparative Study

Abstract :: This study aimed at identifying and scoping the extent to which Jordanian news websites have achieved interactivity as a major component of news websites The resercher used the content analysis methodology forinvestigating four news websites selected by the intentional sampling method (Ammon Net, Khaberni.com , alwakeelnews.com ,and Jo24.net). The study showed that the degree of complexity of choices available to the user with its sixteen elements was high by 54.6%, and the facilitation of interpersonal communication with its four elements came low with 18.75%, while monitoring system use of the site by the user has come low with 6% and the ease of adding information by the user came high 87.5% . Capability of searching information in the site with its three elements came low with 41.6% and responsiveness to the users by site officials and editors came high with 68.7% finally the degree of interactivity in the Jordanian electronic press sample of the study came low with 48.6%

Abstract :The aim of this study is to learn about the special journalistic skills in the digital media acquired by media students as a result of their exposure to the electronic newspapers, which is a set of skills that were directly related to the development of the medium from paper to the Internet. This study was based on the theory of dependence on means of communication. The descriptive approach was used by the survey of the media students' audience at the Middle East University Media School. The sample of the study was selected using the random sample method available from 110 students from all levels of study, In the second semester 2017-2018. The study found that the behavioral motivation of acquiring special journalistic skills in the digital media in all the measurement subjects by the students came at a high level with an average score of 3.70. This confirms that the role of the electronic press in providing media students with special journalistic skills in the digital media came strong. The study showed that there are statistically significant differences in students 'acquisition of special journalistic skills in the digital media according to the average of the cumulative average for the students whose average is acceptable compared to the students whose cumulative average is excellent. There are also statistically significant differences in the students' acquisition of special press skills in the digital media, The level of study for first year students compared to third year students, and that there are no statistically significant differences towards the acquisition of the skills of journalists in the digital media according to gender. Abstract :: This study aimed at identifying and scoping the quality of digital journalism from the perspective of members of the media faculties at various Jordanian universities. It consisted of a sample of 27 faculty members and analyzed Ammon News Website through the public audience communication methodology. Overall, the study concluded that the perception of the quality of digital journalism ranked intermedia compared to its update and immediacy which ranked high. It also highlighted a great reliance on using the inverted model and the ease of browsing among users along with the speed of accessing URLs as important factors in its findings
