University Students’ Use of Social Networking Sites to Spread Health Awareness

Abstract : This study aims to identify the use of social networking sites by Jordanian university students to spread health awareness about the dangers of drugs. This study followed the descriptive analytical approach, and a questionnaire was developed to match the study dimensions. The study population consisted of students from the University of Jordan, who were randomly selected (600 males and females). The study showed a significant effect of the University of Jordan students' use of social networking sites in spreading awareness about the danger of drugs. Also, there was a statistically significant difference at α = 0.05 for the Jordanian university students' use of social networking sites in spreading awareness about drug dangers. In addition, there were differences in the respondents' answers to the questionnaire due to the gender variable in favor of males. Furthermore, the results showed no differences according to the school year variable. In light of the current results, the study confirms the need to use social media to spread health awareness about the dangers of drugs, especially among students, because of the great damage to their health and society. Especially, university students are the educated group in society, and they have the role of educating others, not drug addiction

Now that we are in the twenty-first century and in light of the wide range of movement created by social media platforms, there are many dangers that are drugs, as these platforms allow to communicate with a lot of what we know and do not know, Through its silent talk, which is only seen by its owner "by the symbols placed on smartphones" it allows talking in all directions.

The media professors' skills in digital media... adoption and usage

Abstract : The article explores the digital media skills and vision that media professors can use in teaching—furthermore identifying the factors that form the technical knowledge of media professors towards digital media skills. It has adopted the descriptive approach using the questionnaire as a data collection tool. The random sample has been (66) media faculty members in Jordanian universities. The results showed that media professors have a vision of the requirements and skills of digital media highly. Furthermore, it found a correlation between the technical knowledge of media professors and their attitudes towards digital media skills. The authors recommended that professors acquire the skills of using digital media effectively, as it reduces the effects of variables that affect how this type of media is used in lecturing or general everyday life.

Posting on Facebook and its relation to forming public opinion on Syrian asylum from the point of view of faculty members of Jordanian universities

Abstract : This research study aims at identifying the relation between posting on Facebook and its connection to forming public opinion on Syrian Asylum from the point of view of faculty members of Jordanian Universities. The community of the study included 23 public and private Jordanian Universities, while the sample of the study consisted of 200 faculty member respondents working at Jordanian Universities. The study findings showed the significant role of posting on Facebook in forming public opinion on Syrian Asylum from the viewpoint of faculty members of Jordanian Universities. It also showed that Facebook pages and walls have a vital role in covering the current events on Syrian Asylum, in addition to presenting several opinions and perspectives with respect to the same issue on Facebook. The findings and results also showed that there were no differences of statistical significance in the average answers of the study sample, consisting of faculty members of Jordanian Universities, attributed to the variables of gender and years of tutoring experience. However, there were differences of statistical significance in the average answers of the study sample attributed to the variable of age. The study recommended that it is vital to recognize issues and topics addressed by Facebook, to provide reliable source information on these issues, and to quote sources of such information, for these play a central role in forming public opinion on Syrian Asylum.

جهود العلاقات العامة الرقمية في إدارة الصورة الذهنية للقطاع السياحي وانعكاسه على الوعي الثقافي والمعرفي للجمهور الأردني

Abstract : يهدف البحث إلى التعرف على جهود العلاقات العامة الرقمية في إدارة الصورة الذهنية للقطاع السياحي وانعكاسه على الوعي الثقافي والمعرفي للجمهور الأردني، شمل مجتمع الدراسة وزارة السياحة والآثار وهيئة تنشيط السياحة الأردنية. أما العينة فتكونت من (100) مستجيب من العاملين في إدارة العلاقات العامة في وزارة السياحة والآثار وهيئة تنشيط السياحة الأردنية. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أنه توجد انعكاسات لجهود العلاقات العامة الرقمية في إدارة الصورة الذهنية للقطاع السياحي على الوعي الثقافي والمعرفي للجمهور الأردني، وتبين أن العاملون في مكاتب الإعلام والاتصال يمتلكون رؤية حول جهود العلاقات العامة الرقمية في إدارة الصورة الذهنية لقطاع السياحة في الأردن.بالإضافة وجود علاقة ارتباطية بين العوامل المحددة لتشكيل المعرفة لدى شرائح وأفراد المجتمع الأردني وبين اتجاهاتهم الفعلية. مفتاح الكلمات:العلاقات العامة الرقمية، إدارة الصورة الذهنية، القطاع السياحي، الوعي الثقافي والمعرفي، الجمهور الأردني.

Role of the Jordanian TV in Raising Public Awareness of Covid-19 Crisis: A field study from perspective of a sample of the Jordanian public

Abstract : This paper aims to identify role of the Jordan TV in raising public awareness of Covid-19 crisis. It is a field study conducted on a sample of the Jordanian public. The sample consists of 385 respondents. The descriptive analytics method is used to draw the findings. It is concluded that the Jordan TV has played a role in raising public awareness of Covid-19 crisis and discussing the health aspects related to the crisis. It is noticed that the Jordan TV has contributed to serving the Jordanian community by providing Covid-19 health awareness programs from the perspective of the Jordanian public. This paper recommends that the Jordan TV Administration should realize the importance of educating the Jordanian public about Covid-19 crisis and discussing the health aspects related to it. This is since the Jordan TV plays a key role in guiding the public to follow the good practice in dealing with the Covid-19 crisis.

The level of evaluation of faculty members in Jordanian universities for the performance skills of newscasters on Jordanian TV

Abstract : The aim of this research is to show the level of evaluation of faculty members in Jordanian universities for the performance skills of newscasters on Jordanian television, through a study from the viewpoint of faculty members in media faculties in Jordanian universities that formed the study community, and the sample consisted of (62) A faculty member working in the faculties that teach the media major in these universities. The researcher reached a number of results, the most important of which are: The level of evaluation of the performance skills of newscasters came with a high degree of approval of the skills of recitation, speaking, questioning, listening and listening, and managing the dialogue owned by the newscasters in Jordan TV. Realizing the importance of the sentence and its position in the subject to be compatible and integrated with the rest of the sentences of the entire text.

Abstract : هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على أثر أنماط الملكية على المحتوى الإعلامي في القنوات التلفزيونية الأردنية من وجهة نظر القائم بالاتصال، وذلك من خلال دراسة تحليلية، وقد اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي القائم على دراسة الحقائق الخاصة بطبيعة الظاهرة، أو مجموعة من الأفراد، أو مجموعة من الأحداث أو الأوضاع المتعلقة بتصوير خصائص الظاهرة وتحليلها وتقويمها؛ لمعرفة المتغيرات التي تتسبّب في حدوث الظاهرة. وقد تمّ تصميم استبانة للدراسة لتحقيق الأهداف المتوخاة، حيث تكوّن مجتمع الدراسة من (31) قناة خاصة في الأردن، أما العينة فتشكلت من الإعلاميين القائمين بالاتصال، مثل: المُحرِّرين، والمُذيعين، والمُصوِّرين في قناتي: (رؤيا، والمملكة)، واستندت على نظرية حارس البوابة، ونظرية ترتيب الأولويات. وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى عدد من النتائج، أبرزها: أنّ القنوات التلفزيونية الفضائية الأردنية تقدّم محتوى إعلامياً يهدف إلى تحسين صورتها لدى مختلف فئات الجمهور، وأنَّ المضمون يتوافق مع مستوى الحدث، وأنها تسهم في تغيير مفاهيم الجمهور المستهدف نحو مختلف المواضيع المطروحة، وتبيّن أنّ أدوار المالكين في المحطات الإعلامية تتجسد في إظهار رؤية واستراتيجيات القناة، وأنهم يدركون أهمية تطوير خطة إعلامية للبرامج التي تطرحها القنوات التي يمتلكونها. وأوصت الدراسة بضرورة قيام القنوات التلفزيونية الفضائية بتقديم محتوى إعلاميّ يتناسب واتجاهات الرأي العامّ للجماهير بشكلٍ يُشبع حاجاتِهم ورغباتِهم الاجتماعية، وضرورة تقديم محتوى إعلاميّ يهدف إلى زيادة أواصر المحبة والثقة التي من شانها تحقيق النجاح لهذه القنوات.

Electoral Campaigns Management in Social Media and its Relation with Political Awareness Among Voters in Jordan

Abstract : This research aims to introduce the relationship between electoral campaigns management in social media and the political awareness among voters in Jordan. The study society was all the voters of all the seven electoral areas in Amman, the capital of Jordan. The sample consisted of (400) responders. The study depended on the theory of depending on social media that assumes that the audience uses the social media to fulfil its knowledge needs and psychological and individual objectives in order to form its behavioral attitudes in certain circumstances. The study concluded that social media discusses the electoral issues which touch the interests of voters which show that they have interests in the subjects presented in the electoral campaigns in social media about the electoral programs of the candidates; they depend on these campaigns to know everything related to the candidate of the parliament in Jordan. It also shows a relationship between the electoral campaigns in social media and the political awareness among the Jordanian audience. The study recommended the importance of recognizing the necessity of the subjects and cases discussed in the electoral campaigns in social media for its important role in the political awareness among the Jordanian audience

Abstract : The research aims to identify the role played by the Facebook network in the sustainability of the Jordanian cultural movement and spreading it in light of the ban that stopped organizing activities to prevent gatherings due to the Corona pandemic. The researchers used a content analysis tool to analyze three accounts on Facebook of well-known Jordanian cultural institutions, namely: the account ofJordanian Ministry of Culture, the account of Abdul Hameed Shoman Cultural Foundation and the account of Zaha Cultural Center. These accounts are used for news, journalistic and communication purposes. Facebook network plays an important role in the sustainability of cultural activities, implementation and spreading it in the times of crises or during the separation of people and their lack of realistic presence. It is a mean that fulfills the purpose and achieves the desired goal in cultural activities of all kinds.
