The Department of Medical and Clinical Laboratory Technology was established at the beginning of the first semester of the academic year 2024/2025 to keep pace with technological developments in the field of medical laboratory sciences to ensure that the student acquires the knowledge and skills required by the labor market in the field of modern medical laboratories and his ability to compete in the local, regional and international labor market. In addition to keeping pace with modern technological developments in the field of medical laboratory sciences.
The curriculum of the program and courses have been designed to ensure that they cover all areas of basic medical laboratory sciences such as clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology and blood transfusion, immunology and serology, molecular biology and genetics, and histopathology, with a focus on modern technologies and emerging fields in the field of medical laboratories and related specialized laboratories such as molecular diagnostic techniques, forensic laboratories, and the field of assisted reproductive techniques. In addition, the program includes specialized courses using electronic databases and modern computer applications in the process of analyzing samples, diagnosing disease cases, and identifying genetic mutations within a practical application, which will be reflected in the graduate's ability to excel and be unique with the latest knowledge and skills related to medical laboratory sciences.
The program plan includes 137 credit hours distributed over 4 academic years, and within the program, students are trained in medical laboratories in major hospitals and health institutions accredited in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The program is unique in that it allows students to study the final year at one of the universities with which the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences has signed student training agreements in Spain and Australia
