Overview

Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Cosmetic Science is a comprehensive undergraduate programme designed to prepare highly qualified professionals who combine scientific knowledge with practical expertise in cosmetics, skincare, hair care, and body treatments. The programme provides a strong scientific foundation through the study of skin biology, structure and function of the skin, hair types and disorders, as well as cosmetic chemistry and product formulation.

At Applied Science Private University, the programme emphasises hands-on training through intensive practical sessions in skincare techniques, deep cleansing, non-medical cosmetic treatments, preventive cosmetology, and the use of modern technologies such as non-medical cosmetic lasers and advanced skincare devices. The programme also highlights professional safety standards, sterilisation practices, ethical conduct, and customer service skills, along with training in beauty centre management.

Students benefit from a unique international training opportunity during their final year in a cosmetic manufacturing company in Italy, enhancing their global exposure and connecting them with the latest industry practices.

The curriculum consists of 140 credit hours over four years (8 semesters), including 6 credit hours of field training conducted in accredited beauty centres, clinics, and cosmetic factories in Jordan, in accordance with Ministry of Health standards. The programme also integrates administrative and marketing aspects such as beauty centre management and cosmetic product marketing, enabling graduates to succeed professionally or establish their own businesses.
