Dr. Osama Alshareet is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Information Technology, ASU, since February 2026. He earned his PhD in Information and Systems Engineering from Concordia University, Canada, in 2025, with research focused on AI-driven recommender systems for e-commerce and collaborative filtering.

His expertise includes artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, recommender systems, graph-based learning, and AI-enabled web information systems. He has authored eight publications, including several in Springer Q1/Q2 journals, and has served as a reviewer for IEEE and Springer journals.

Dr. Alshareet also brings extensive academic and professional experience in teaching, research, and the development of academic web information systems, along with a record of professional certifications in AI, ML, and software engineering.​

  • Dr. Osama Alshareet’s research interests center on artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, and recommender systems, with particular emphasis on collaborative filtering, graph-based methods, spectral learning, and federated learning. His work also extends to AI-based information systems engineering, software engineering, and web information systems, with an emphasis on the design, development, and evaluation of intelligent, scalable, and data-driven digital solutions. His research explores computational models for personalization, ranking optimization, long-tail recommendation, and user-centric decision support, particularly in e-commerce and online platforms. He is further interested in large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic AI systems, and intelligent web information systems, with the broader goal of advancing robust, explainable, and practically deployable AI technologies for complex real-world environments.​
