Dr. Jamil Jamal Jaber

Dr. Jamil J. Jaber is an Assistant Professor specializing in Actuarial Statistics and Financial Risk at the Applied Science Private University, Jordan. He holds a PhD from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), where his dissertation focused on corporate credit risk modeling using actuarial techniques. He also has a Master’s in Finance and Investment from Hashemite University and a Bachelor’s in Actuarial Science from the University of Jordan.

Dr. Jaber’s research focuses on actuarial science, financial risk management, and FinTech, with a strong emphasis on applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to solve financial and insurance-related problems. His work includes credit risk modeling, stock market volatility forecasting, mortality rate estimation, and insurance risk assessment. He has published extensively in high-impact journals with many papers indexed in Scopus (Q1/Q2) and Web of Science.

He has received several awards, including the Best PhD Dissertation Award and Best Research Award from the Central Bank of Jordan (2022), and was recognized as a Distinguished Researcher by the Applied Science Private University in 2024. Dr. Jaber has taught courses like Financial Risk Management (Include Derivatives, Portfolio, Investment, and Credit Risk), Actuarial Science, and Insurance. He has also worked as an actuarial consultant for many local organizations.​
