When Amman Paints in Color : The Faculty of Art and Design Makes a Notable Appearance at Amman Design Week 2026

Drawing inspiration from the city and its rich memories, the Faculty of Art and Design at Applied Science Private University, represented by the Department of Design and Visual Communication, participated in the Student Exhibition at Amman Design Week 2026 with the project “When Amman Paints in Color,” presenting a contemporary visual experience that captures the distinctive character of the capital through a modern design language. Inspired by the atmosphere of Amman’s summer evenings, the project transforms everyday scenes into a dynamic visual rhythm, where color, movement, and sound interact with the architectural features of buildings and streets, creating a vibrant portrayal that reflects the city’s warmth, unique identity, and living memories. The project’s vision aligns with “Accumulations,” the central theme of Amman Design Week 2026, exploring how layers of details, memories, and experiences shape our relationship with the city and its identity. The project was created by student Aya Amro, under the supervision of Lec. Inas Daradkeh, reflecting the commitment of Applied Science Private University and the Faculty of Art and Design to fostering student creativity and providing opportunities for students to showcase their work at specialized design and cultural events. Such participation strengthens students’ presence within the creative community and bridges their academic experiences with contemporary design practices.
