The Faculty of Art and Design at Applied Science Private University participated in a group exhibition held at “Fann wa Chai” as part of Amman Design Week, featuring faculty members Dr. Manal Barqawi and Lec. Mahmoud Salem. The exhibition explored the expressive potential of local Jordanian clay through diverse artistic approaches, opening a dialogue between material, identity, and human experience.
Dr. Manal Barqawi presented a collection of ceramic works that brought together her expertise in painting and visual composition with clay as an artistic medium. Lec. Mahmoud Salem contributed a sculpture entitled Fragments, which uses symbolic expression to explore the body, memory, and loss, indirectly evoking the human tragedy in Gaza.
This participation reflects the Faculty’s commitment to supporting creative practice and artistic experimentation, strengthening faculty members’ engagement with the artistic and cultural scene, and connecting academic practice with contemporary artistic approaches and the expressive use of local materials.
